I think they started practicing for SMU a little too early.

I was watching the game and I wondered why they threw into the end zone when they were already in FG range. I am sure most of the frog faithful are questioning that call. Its still unusual for a head coach to throw his coordinator under the bus in public like that. You may not call that side of the ball, Gary, but you hired the guy who does.

On the other hand given the problems their kicker was having (perhaps he was spooked by the thin air or something), I suspect the OC was thinking that it would be better to go for six than to miss another field goal right before going into OT.

I am not sure what kicking problems that the kicker was having until overtime occurred. He did have one kick blocked but that was someone on the left side of the line blowing an assignment and the airforce guy getting back to block the kick. This was just a stupid call by the OC and to Fatterson for letting him make that call.

TCU sure got a break from their buddies in the MWC. Road game in Austin against Texas on Saturday Nite and road game 5 days later against a wishbone team in Colorado Springs which actually requires additional days to prepare for to get their assignments and responsibilities.

The purpose was to point out that the MWC screwed one of their showcase programs by having them play on the road Thursday after a road game the weekend before.

The Frogs were touting all the benefits of moving to the MWC with those old WAC teams that left them out in the cold. It looks like they are still trying to screw the frogs.

I'm sure it was to help give TCU an excuse for the loss -- the paper was full of those this morning. After all, this is a team who has 5 wins over Big XII opponents so they wouldn't have lost to air force with 2 more days to prepare (never mind that 3 of 5 were over powerhouses Iowa State and Baylor, one was over the erratic Texas Tech team who lost to 2-10 Colorado last year by a score of 30 to 6, and conveniently omits the 70 to 35 drubbing from Tech in 2004). Of course, TCU didn't start off like preparing for Air Force's offense, or the short turnaround, was their problem. It was only their determination not to really do anything in the 4th quarter that hurt them.

I just hope that TCU will now stop acting like its excrement doesn't stink, and that the rest of "us" can stop talking about them as the next great dynasty.

It's funny how much can happen in less than a week. Last Friday at this time, the froggies were still thinking they were on thier way to a BCS bowl and possibly win the national championship.

Now, they have a sub .500 record and may not win thier conference.

It's a crying shame I tell you. It just breaks my heart....

POOOOOOOOOOOOOOR froggies.

I stand corrected. I wouldn't put it past the three schools that run that conference -- BYU, BYU and BYU -- to make sure they are taken care of so that everybody else gets the shaft.

The hard lesson TCU is learning is that it should have never danced with the devil -- BYU -- if it was going to move conferences. No one should ever consider being in a league with that school.

I've dealt with enough of those folks to feel pretty safe about my position. Think the TCU folks would like to try and get the knives out of their backs but they're wedged pretty deep.

Actually, you have the dual LDS tag team of BYU and Utah. But its still the same gang of five that led the dissolution of the WAC-16 (also known as Airport Al and his Band of Reknown), Air Force, CSU, Wyoming, BYU and Utah. They call the shots for MWC and that's why the MWC will never expand beyond 9 because they lose conrol that way. Of course, the gang figured that AF needed to catch TCU napping. And the best way to do that was to schedule the game on a short week between UT and SMU. I'm sure they at first tried to get Utah or BYU for that game, but knew that would be too obvious. And TCU joined the MWC for what reason, again?
