I didn't know any of it. I also wanted to know what the gripes were. Once I got the gripes, I went to try to prove them, but I couldn't.

BRStang, if 0-12 in 2003 made us "losers" and unable to recruit and got us in the pickle we're in now, how did we get to 0-12? I mean what was the reason then for not having players anybody else wanted back then?
See jtstang's 3-step fix. All must be accomplished before expectations will ever be the norm again.

No, I'm not saying the 0-12 season got us in the pickle we're in now, I'm just saying, in retrospect, I think Bennett had no chance to take us to the next level at that point.

The majority of our guys graduate with a degree in Sociology, and I dont think that is a coincidence. Every school has "athletic friendly" majors that the players know are easy. I know this does not help with the transfer problem of PE type credits but that is part of being a private university. Tulsa's transfer policies are just as tough as SMU's for the most part and they manage to pull in guys from OU, UCLA, Colorado, K State, and others because the kids have fun playing in that system. As much as we all like to think 19 year olds sit down and compare transfer policies from school to school they do not. They go to a school where they will get attention and playing time.

Tulsa has signed off the Top of my head 10 players who were top rated Division 1A BCS Transfers in FB and BB starting with those two centers who lead them on their Championship and NCAA run. I cited stories about each and every one of these recruits as they signed with Tulsa. Plus I just posted a story the other day about the non-qualifier WR Brendan M----- who had to graduate from JUCO through the summer to get admitted. Never even bought the textbooks. Averaging about 35 yards per catch this year. More anecdotal evidence from people who don't know what they are talking about. None of these kids get into SMU.

How do you know they don't "get in." Maybe they don't want to come to SMU? Did they try to get in, and couldn't? Show me some facts.
Also, Tulsa does not have a P.E. or Kinesiology program, either.

So are you part of admissions and you know their grades? Or are you simply GUESSING that they couldnt get into SMU?

Anyone with almost 10,000 posts on a message board MUST be the truth, the word, and the light.

Forgive me for questioning the authority of Stallion or anyone else on here.
Hopefully, Stallion will respond and I can feel like I helped push him to 10,000 posts.

Yes I'm going to draw conclusions based on the evidence when I see 50 Division 1A BCS transfers(a very conservative number) but one I know I can support transfer to our opponents like UTEP, UH(10 in the last 3 years in FB alone and probably another 5 in BB) ), UTEP(10 in the last 4 years in FB alone and probably another 5 in BB), Tulsa, TCU (10 in the last 6 years many of which went on to All-Conference seasons). Each and every one of the transfers was documented by me on this board. That's not antecdotal evidence-that's the facts. I'll respond to Pony94 the first time he says something more credible than FIRE THE COACH! Show you know what you are talking about and I'll respond. If you don't know a thing about the admission problems SMU has suffered over the last 2 decades then why don't you study the facts and issues before making conclusions.
