BTW what would have happened if it was ruled no Touchdown? UTEP had no timeout. The ball wasn't out of bounce and I don't believe it would have been a first down. Does college football have a timed clock run when the play is stopped w/o timeout, first down or out of bounce ruling. In other words would UTEP be allowed to run another play? Interesting situation. I doubt they could have even lined up in 5 seconds without getting a penalty.

I was talking about that in the stands. Had they reversed it (a good thing), I assume it would have allowed them to place the ball and blow the "ready for play" whistle(a bad thing). Had they ruled it short, the clock would have expired and then the review would have taken place. In the first scenario, I do not think it would have been fair to allow another play. I would be interested to know if there is a time run rule.

my best guess is: the clock would be running since it was third and goal... utep would run to the line (4th and goal), refs would get a signal that the play needs to be reviewed (as the clock is running out), they blow the whistle and review see where the player was down and how much time was on the clock, reset the ball, blow the whistle and the clock is running, run up the middle (TD UTEP), we go into overtime and still lose because we have no defense.

I only see them calling for a review if the initial call is TD. Otherwise it would have been spotted by the line judge and the clock keeps running. Stallion brings up interesting food for thought, but there really isn't any good entertaining the idea for too long.

I believe that brings PB to something like 18-44
