I am not chasing winners; I was born and raised in Orlando and everyone in my family went to UF (except my mom) and I went to my first game at the swamp when I was like 5. I have probaly been to 30+ Gator games and suffered through the Zook era to boot. I am not simply riding the bandwagon on this one. I went to SMU because I wanted to get out of the state of Florida knowing that going to UF would just be an extension of high school.
To clarify my situation: I think I mis-stated it: I am not a bigger UF fan than SMU fan. They are 2 completely different entities: they don't compete in recruiting, conference play, out of conference play, they have different goals for the season etc.
If a situation ever arose where UF played SMU out of conference, I would undoubtedly cheer for SMU and hope that they won.
Remember, I wrote that post on a UF blog.

They don't compete in recruiting, they don't play each other, they don't have the same goals for the season etc. It's not like you have to pick one over the other.
Knuckle, if you're so narrow minded and are unable to see this painfully obvious truth then I sympathize.
I guess I am truly narrow minded, because I disagree with pretty much everything you just said. If you actually graduated/attended Florida, that's different, I'd like to personally apologize to you, and also congratulate you on having a great program.
I grew up a rabid Virginia fan, attending all the home games. I bled orange and blue till I was 18. But I did not attend UVA, I attended SMU. These days, I follow them casually, but could really care less about how UVA does, because I did not attend that school. If I live 1000 years, I will never understand how someone can attend one college, and claim that his "football allegiances lie" with another college that he did not attend. But hey, that's just me. Call me old fashioned?
That said, I want to (seriously) compliment you on that 6DB website, there's some funny stuff on there

Of course some folks have degrees from one or two schools and have allegieances to both. SMU has my main fandom, but William and Mary gets a nod when I can go see them. Sorry to hear that you bled orange and blue of UVA. Most UVa alums I know bleed scotch, vodka, bourbon or gin.

Very cool campus, butting up against Colonial Williamsburg like that.

I still bleed all 4 liquors; unfortunately, they ooze from my pores daily. My bro was a player and coach at W&M, and I try to hit one of those games with him every yr. This year was Delaware. Rough going. Love seeing games there though. Jimmye is genius.

Did you attend USC? If the answer is yes, you do not have to wear an SMU shirt.

So when Longhornfan68 (or whomever) comes to an SMU game he should wear a UT shirt, even though he is supporting SMU?

He is supporting SMU by being there, I don't care what he wears. I just want to make sure you start wearing SMU shirts at the USC games.
