North Texas played a non-conference schedule of OU, Arkansas, Navy and SMU. Todd Dodge will do just fine on the recruiting trail-even better if he could sell SMU's assets as opposed to NTSU's lack thereof. Superman ain't availiable.

Stallion,
Wins and losses is the name of the game. He's done HORRIBLE in his one season at a head coach. Remember PB's first full recruiting class when you were climaxing over the likes of Avery Cleveland and Co.? Recruiting is an integral aspect of a program, but just like Bennett, if he lays another turd next year the luster is off at North Texas State.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Not his players. 1st year in down cycle program. A few minutes from beating us. Did beat ASU...which is more than SMU can say.
He'd jump. In a New York minute he'd jump.
Not saying he's my first choice. Heck, he's not even my second or third. But like God insisting that Jonah go to Ninevah, he might (and I emphasize MIGHT) be our only choice if the likes of Kragthorpe aren't willing to test the waters and Bowden gets a better offer while Orsini is experiencing pre-buyer's remorse.
And he couldn't do a whole lot worse that 1-10 or 1-11, could he?
I mean, c'mon...be reasonable. This isn't your daddy's or granddaddy's football program.

How many points did they score against OU, Arkadelphia? Navy and SMU do not count. Navy coach needs to be fired also. Damn, this is a stupid thread. We all suck. UNT sucks, SMU sucks, this whole board sucks with this coaching crap. We don't have a coach! A football team without a coach and people are having fun with it. We suck! Webmaster, answer me this. Has the post increased since the firing of PB?

I liked the idea of Dodge when we 1st starte speculating about having a new coach. I figured he couldn't do any worse than any recent coaches in terms of recruiting Metroplex kids. And yes, I do fear he will build a program at UNT that, like TCU, will eventually leave SMU behind.
Of course, when we started hearing about a "wow" hire, I got off the Dodge bandwagon in a hurry.
If we are back to finding someone who can help us recruit locally and who is affordable, Dodge is back on my personal list...but would fall in behind Turner Gill.

I like Dodge the best of our candidates. With Riley coming too, JWill could easily move to safety and become our best safety since Sturdivant.

What is wrong with you? We put up points in a lot of games we lost this season, on the last play, in overtime. Was it fun and entertaining?

as i stated before, 27 points a game isnt fun. id love to throw for 500+ yards a game and have a crazy explosive offense. i meant we should look at TT and see they haven't had much success with their offense, but the students still go to every game and get excited about seeing a performance. if we were to be 7-5 on a consistent basis and going to bowl games with that offense, i'd be ecstatic

Have not been on the board during these disappointing times, but have been to most games. So many blown chances- what a shame.
Todd Doge, with Riley in tow, makes all look better at the Hilltop (if he agrees to bring reall ncaa DI coaches with him).
Riley watches for 1-2 seasons while Justin gets a QB coaching lesson everyday.
HS Recruits line-up to get a taste!
We're back!

Lord have mercy where the heck have you been?!?
Glad to see you back.
Unlike Mr. M****, I humbly disagree on Dodge.....

let's recap how many points we've scored each game: 9-45-28-21-45-7-34-23-28-42-20 = 27.45 per game. not exactly close to 50
our opponents have damn near put up 50 a game...its about 48 a game

Have you ever been to Lubbock, Tx? Nothing else for the student body to do. Let's see, cow tipping, getting drunk, cow tipping, getting drunk, football game, where you can get drunk, BB game to watch a damn good drunk coach.
