I was talking specifically about Colt and D. Bess...it's actually been pretty common over the years for Hawaii to get troubled players from other schools...and I'm not knocking it because obviously it gets winning done (see past Fresno St teams)...just saying that June's system wouldn't appeal to Turner's nose.

Turner needs to get his nose out of it. Thats the problem.

It seems caddywampus when I say that I remain unconvinced that athletics remains in Turner's top5 priorities for the university, and in the next breath, I agree with you that he needs to stay out of the hiring decision until Orsini does his thing. What I mean to express is that I agree with you, but I perceive Turner's lip service of wins and a top 25 program to be just that...lip service. In fact, has Turner ever said that before? (I know Orsini did...but did Gerald?) He has to have a decent hire, but it'll be another football coach or two before this gets laid at his feet (unfortunately).

I feel he needs to stay out of athletics all together. What is the AD's job? Let the AD do his job. Either trust Orsini will do what is in the best interest of the Athletic department, or bring someone in who you do trust. I believe in hiring people and letting them do their job. Evaluate throughout the process and consequence accordingly.
