re:"was in a lab today and the players said they had a team meeting tomorrow afternoon...looks like coaching vacancy could be filled"
So if this is true and the players are meeting tomorrow afternoon would that mean Orsini holds his press conference immediately after the players are told so word does not leak out?

Given the old adage: Three people can keep a secret: as long as two of them are dead; it's possible that the team will be executed to protect the truth.

I kind of agree with this. It may just be to tell them not to listen to all the rumors that we guys are throwing out there and to concentrate on their studies and get in the weight room.

Don't you think it's more likely that this is the usual end of the year meeting players have anyway after the last game, and the guys talking to the pf.com'r in the lab were stating something that is at least partially true to yank his chain?

it may be an end of the season meeting, but they were the ones speculating about it being about a possible new coach. they had just found out about the meeting right before lab

sometimes, an AD will come in and ask players' opinions of some finalists or what they should look for in a coach

unless it's the home ec lab, the model's definitely broken...multiple players in one lab?

I doubt this very seriously. Maybe one or two standouts, but not the team as a whole.

If we were about to announce a coach, a team meeting is one of the last things on the agenda.
I've never heard of a new coach being introduced to the team first, then the media. I've never heard of a team meeting being a signal that a new coach is about to be announced. If they do call a team meeting to introduce a coach, it would be very last-minute without much advance notice. Players are usually the last to know when a new coach is hired.
This is the usual end-of-the-year meeting. Has to be.

if memory serves correct, the AD at UF interviewed the team leaders like Chris Leak just before Urban Meyer came aboard. you're probably right though, i don't see them asking all 50+ players at once

In fact, usually new college coaches meet with their teams first because that is protocol. Then they do the press conference. Bennett did that and Doherty did that.

I had a science, Oceanography I believe, that had a Wednesday lab. It's possible.

Actually, Bennett Had the press conference then he met all of the players after in the pressbox. I remember because we all went to Milo's immediately afterwards. That was a long night!!
