Coach Jones grew up in Hawaii and loves it out there (for more than the beaches and other tourist attractions). I doubt there's a job in the country — including a return to the NFL — that ever will lure him off the islands.

More snipe hunt material.

Darth actually heard Jones' name mentioned at a local adult beverage establishment the other night by someone who might know. All Darth could think of was this is better than a Soviet Union disinformation campaign!

the school/conference will only get about 5 mill...they split the cost...so UGA/SEC will get about 5 mil just like Hawaii/WAC

He loves Hawaii and is doing great things there. He has always declined NFL or BCS jobs because he is coaching at his Alma Mater, living where he wants to live, and going to BCS games. And he gets to wear Aloha Shirts daily.

June Sheldon Jones, III (born February 19, 1953, Portland, Oregon) is an American football coach, formerly with the Atlanta Falcons and currently with the University of Hawaiʻi.

[edit] Playing career
Jones played the quarterback position on three college teams: Oregon (1971-1972), Hawaii (1973-1974), and Portland State (1975-1976). It is during his time at Portland State that he would be introduced to the Run & Shoot offense by Mouse Davis. It would be an offense that he would later champion throughout his coaching career. Thereafter, he entered professional football, playing for the Atlanta Falcons (1977-1981) of the National Football League and the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (1982). In four seasons with the Falcons, Jones completed 75 of 166 passes for 923 yards with three touchdowns and seven interceptions.[1]

June Jones is a white guy. A moustache. About six-foot-three (awfully big moustache). He's from Detroit. An ex-boxer. His real name is Joey Chicago. Fought under the name of Kid Minneapolis. I saw him fight once in Cincinnati. No wait, that was Kid New York. He fought out of Philly. That guy was killed in the ring in Houston. By Tex Colorado. You know, the Arizona Assassin from North Dakota. I remember it was North Dakota because his brother was from South Dakota.
