its tough to imagine that SMU, GA TECH and DUKE would all wait around for another two weeks. if PJ did that (which i dont think he would), that would be grossly unfair to everyone involved. could you imagine the sentiment of his football team? just dont see it happening. i dont see this lasting much longer than tomorrow.
agreed...here's hoping we upped the ante.

Reality is Navy, GT, Duke and SMU can have all the bloggers watching the doors all they want, but nobody knows what Johnson's agent is doing right now.

I hope Plan B is good.
Since SMU will eliminate anyone with a past (which is practically everyone) I think we are about to hire another assistant. How old is Forrest Gregg now? Raymond Berry? Any SMU alumni coaches out there who would be good candidates?
I hope Orsini can pull a rabbit out of a hat but I think I've seen all the available coaches mentioned on one site or another. The same 5 names keep getting mentioned for every job.

Time does kill deals. The question is which deal is getting killed?
You have to assume that after all of this time and meetings he has all the offers/numbers from GT and SMU.
He either:
1) Is giving Navy time to counter or if he said he is leaving to get a game plan ready
2) Is telling GT or SMU what issues ($$) need to be addressed to make him theirs.

I think (just a hunch) PJ is trying to decide between Navy and SMU. Tough decision I'm sure for him.

While I empathize with the pessimism, again, I don't see this as necessarily a negative for us. If he's decided to come here, he could be thinking about what he wants to say in his press conference, making phone calls, etc. Probably a lot to think about and do before making an announcement.

In reality SMU is at best a lateral transfer. So, I suspect he's really having to think that over. He knows that if he goes to SMU, he'll be there at least 4 years and be four years older.

DELIMEAT: I think he may have been snacking on something while we were talking...I've got the GoMids.com forensics folks breaking down the tape now. I'm thinking he was crunching on a few baked lays potato chips...tough to tell.
One thing I can tell you is that he wasn't too happy with some of NavyandGold's posts today. I didn't need forensics to help me figure that out. Let's face it, whether he stays or goes could rest on what is said in this thread.

He was right in front of me in line at Bubba's about 11:50 a.m. - Ordered a #8 (reduced portion) with Navy Beans as the vegetable. Also had iced tea with one Sweet 'n Low. Paid with his Pony Express Card. No butter on his roll but did douse it with sorghum. Left a $1 tip for the busboy. That's all I know.
