SMU vs. Arkansas 1966 in Fayettville. My high school had just won a game in Fort Smith that all but clinched the State Championship and we were taken to Fayettville as a prize. Saw UA beat SMU but a week or 2 later, I believe it was A&M beat Arkansas which put SMU into the Cotton Bowl. We were then taken to the Cotton Bowl as a prize for officially winning the State Championship and saw Georgia score on an 80 run on their first play and go on to beat SMU. Obviously those 2 games had quite an impact since I then ended up accepting a scholarship offer to SMU.

I was at this game. Most near perfect game SMU has ever played I would bet. SMU lost a fumble on their first drive and then proceeded to score on every subsequent drive of the game. Never punted if I recall correctly. I too thought the corner was turned. It was a shame that this game was the only win of the year.

One of the first games I remember was the early to mid 70's at the Cotton Bowl against Arkansas - either '73 or '75.

Began going to SMU games the fall of 1964 and have been to most since then. Have been more downs than ups but have not regreted supporting this athletic program even though I only went to Law School here. Good years in the mid to late 60's as well as the "Pony Express" days. Things can only get better.

That was my first SMU game as an SMU student.
My first SMU game was at the Cotton Bowl in 63 when we beat Arkansas 14 - 7. That was the year we went 4-6, beat Roger Staubach's #2 Navy team, and went to the Sun Bowl.

"Probation Bowl" vs. TCU in '86. We whipped them, it was about 117 degrees in the Cotton Bowl, I wore no sunscreen and my nose blistered and oozed pus for a week. Good times!

I came to an SMU vs Georgia Tech game in 1953 or 1954. Then as a student starting in 1955 I attended all of the SMU home games at the Cotton Bowl.

Saw the Navy game, too. Walked down the tunnel and climbed over the rail into the stands. Wasn't too familiar with Roger or Navy at the time. I was 10 years old and one had to be an avid reader of the sports page for your sports information - not that many games on TV. I was excited that SMU won, but didn't really realize the significance at the time.
