The great Randy Stagen!

Last I heard, he was a motivational speaker/life coach or something. Anyone know if he's still doing that?

He goes by "Rand" Stagen now. And he was greatness both at SMU and at the Met.

Yes things have been Peachy-Keen for 18 years. What am I thinking. What a great year to be a Mustang!!!!! Go Ponies.

Jeez, mix in some decaf. Nobody said everything has been "peachy-keen" for the last 18 years - just that it's not a bad thing to support your alma mater with enthusiasm and optimism. You proudly say you don't belong to the Mustang Club, you don't donate money, you don't donate time, you don't donate energy - so the extent of your "support" is going to games (or so you say) and then [deleted] to a bunch of fans on a message board about how nobody seems to understand your wonderfully simple model. If you have all the answers, do something about it. Get in touch with people. If you can't get to Steve-O, get to one of his underlings and share wisdom. In the meantime, quit stomping on those who choose to be supportive.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a whole lot that Stallion, or anyone else, can do about the situation at SMU on his or her own. Our university, being private, is in a position to prevent access and censor any attempt at vocalizing dissent. They have taken this approach on pretty much everything, athletics included, at least ever since I was at SMU in the early 90s. They even censor SMUAD blog responses!!!!!

This message board is about the only place one can voice dissent with the athletic department and the sorry state of affairs that is SMU football. Randy Stagen started the Campus Voice newspaper back when I was in school to combat the white-washed, PC Daily Campus. I know the Voice is now gone and I don't know if there is anything that has ever taken its place.

I disagree. This seems to be a pretty widespread attitude about problems people have. If you want something changed, say something. Being content with the idea you have no say is a pretty miserable way to go through life.
