I thought we were going for that WOW hire / defining monent / signature hire for Orsini TO "at least better than Phil / rather bogey ever hole at Pebble Beach vs. breaking 75 at Mission Viejo C. C.. / cool sideline dresser / at least better than Phil..did I mention he was better than Phil" mentality. Sort of feel like we are settling...but, that is our "m o "...long live Ken Fleming.
First, I guess our definitions of "wow" are different. IMO, hiring either Jones or Fran would get SMU a lot of attention from much of the college football world. Most would probably even say "great hire". To me, that is a wow.
Second, I don't expect the guy to win the BCS next year, or even in 5 years. I would be ecstatic at being the best team in CUSA in 5 years and I think both Fran and Jones could help us do that.

We did, but I just didn't want to rehash that argument/thread.

For the Rainbow Warriors the victory was just getting into the Sugar Bowl.
A win over the Bulldogs would just be icing on an already sweet cake.
Think Baylor in 1974.

You mean teams like Purdue, Arizona State or Washington???
Those are 3 teams Hawaii has defeated the past 2 seasons.

If SMU got to play in the Sugar Bowl in NO, the majority of us in attendance would be so drunk it would be insane.

The SMU crowd would show the world how to party without sleeping for a week. It would be legendary.
