ive always wanted to make this comparison so ill do it now on PFs
Pat White is the pocket version of Vince Young...not as big, not as powering, doesnt have the arm like VY has but man, he sure can rack up some yards and take control of a game like VY does.
How did VY do this year?

Well, you're comparing apples to oranges there, sir. VY was also 2-0 in BCS games. He also had 2000 more yards than White through 3 years at Texas. He also won a National Championship. He also went 30-2 as a starter... blah blah blah.
Vince led his team to the playoffs this year. White led his team to a bowl game. What kind of comparison is this, really?

I just love the comparison. White is just like Young except for size, style, arm, and power. Clones I tell you, they are clones!!!

Honestly, the only reason there are even comparisons is because they are both black qb's.

But he has triple the IQ....and he'll actually earn a gagree.
What's a gagree? Sorry, Pat White is no Vince Young. VY had 200 yards on the ground alone in the MNC game (accounting for 450+). When White does that then I might become impressed.
Well the rest of us call it a degree...but VY calls it a gagree.

Vince Young
National Championships: 1
Pat White
National Championships: 0
And I'm not biased for UT by any stretch, but that it one important fact that has been omitted. Make no mistake about it, VY delivered that title.
I HATE the University of Texas!

You might want to put an asterisk next to the 0 for pat white...

So what you're saying is that White is a good running back/qb and Vince is a good qb/running back.

Uh, why? Because they lost to a crappy Pittsburgh and an average (and now exposed) USF team they deserve to be crowned NC's?

no i think they were both good rb/qb. young has on major asset that sets him apart... his height.

not exactly dan marino... not taking anything away from vy, but WVU would be in the National Championship had Pat white not been hurt against Pitt, and there is no way they would have lost to Ohio State!

Same argument could be made for Oregon that if its QB wasn't hurt it would be playing for the NC. Speculation is worthless; we must deal with reality.
If White stays at WV next season maybe he will win a title. I'm not sure what other returning starters they may have.
