Harvard Red is dark blood red, like the current uniforms
Yale blue is not an official color of SMU.

Harlem Globetrotter-esque duds would work for me.

Our home unis should be the ones in RGV's sig
Away should either be white on white or white with gray slacks, dont know which would look better
A return to the white helmet with red mustang is definitley in order as well, IMO

The Pony Express Cotton Bowl jerseys were too dark. These uni's rock! I will be buying this jersey for my Mini Mustangs next season to go with this years red jerseys. I am also looking at adding in these pants to our outfits.

What shade of blue is that? It almost looks like a powder blue. I think the blue used on the official athletic site now would be fine

What were our away uniforms like that year? Was it white with gray pants?

My 9 year old son really likes the powder blue unis that the Chargers have. Wonder what the unis would look like in Royal Blue and away in Powder Blue.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree. The new uniform will probably have a Tonga/Fiji Islands flair akin to the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Expect something over-the-top (and outside-the-box) that is sure to make a hit with our Trinity HS recruits. Look for Trader Vic's to take out a lease on one of the Ford Stadium concession stands. Pony Express = Boring to our new guy.

Agree, but also put red trim around sleeves and neck
and also a red mustang at the top of the neck.

we insist on demoting our team name to "the ponies", argue for switching the away jersey color to powder blue all the while representing the losingest football program in America...it's almost like we are beating ourselves up

i think you make a good point here. JJ knows to embrace the history and tradition of a program, at UH, he did just what you're saying. Renamed them Warriors (dropping the rainbow) and wore Ha'i shirts and lei's to games. I can see him embracing our storied (good and bad times) to engage our alums by tying to the past.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
