I dont see him as more than an offensive coordinator in the NFL now.

That 62% winning percentage was based mainly on the strength of the team he inherited from Vermeil. How hard is it to win with Marshall Faulk pre-injury.

Its like Fran's record at TCU with LT. Of course they won.

Back to Martz:
Look at St. Louis success the year before Martz became OC. Also in the NFL coaches learn to take things away. You say look at Faulk? Look at Isaac Bruce? The prior three years his stats (barring the injured year) were good not great. What did he inherit from [deleted] Vermeil? Look at the prior year. Please. While [deleted] Vermeil is a better NFL coach by far, no doubt that the schemes that Martz brought to the Rams allowed them to be so explosive for so long. Look at the year Faulk didn't play in 6 games and was injured in 4. 12-4 record with Torry Holt/Bruce tearing it up again. Trust me you bring an NFL coordinator who is good at his job to the college level and watch him tear it up. So is Jason Garrett a god here? Look st the stats prior to this season....
Cowboys offense last year:
4th in points for and 5th in yards gained.
this year
2nd in points and 3rd in yards gained

Now MArtz:
1998:
24th in points and 27th in yards
1999:
1st in points and 1st in yards.
2003: With a banged up Faulk and Faulk missing 6 whole games.
2nd in points and 9th in yards.

Is Martz the greatest OC ever? No. But don't diminished what he accomplished. All great offensive coordinators have great players. I dare you to name me one without a great player. Oh by the way the Lions went from 28th in offense before him to 21st to 16th....hmmm progress? That's with a horrible line and various injuries to the Lions future stars.

You should convince your client to stop looking like his turtle is always peeping and get him to trade his smirk for a smile----for openers.
