Re: Stallion, what do you make of this...lol No kidding.
The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.

Re: Stallion, what do you make of this...Actually I'd rather see some more Jerry Fords, Paul Lloyds and Lamar Hunts right now. These guys have put up some big bucks to help bring the Mustangs back. A few more like them and we can do it within a short peiod of time.
I understand that many of the players (I hope all of them) expect to win every game they suit up. I wouldn't have an athlete who didn't. Bennett is a positive guy. This board is more positive than I remember. Don't throw us old crabs out though if we think a 6 win season would be a huge lift for the program and keep all the momentum going. No one would be happier than the pessimists on the board to have something to brag about except being right predicting small win totals. Everything is starting to go our way. It is just a matter of time (and a few more restrictions being lifted) until this is a top flight program again. A large measure of the success of any rebirth goes to the guys with big money who have funded their dreams. They made Ford Stadium happen and allowed bennett to be hired. Bennet is finding some very good athletes and the future looks bright. If Mustangs young and old will go to the games and really support this team, it could be better than us pessimists think. Right now though- 5wins is a good season and 6 is great. No matter our talent and drive, we have to remember that this is a largely freshman (and fresman redshirt) squad. Being realistic doesn't make OP pull any less hard nor act any less of a fan.
Re: Stallion, what do you make of this...Count me as one who would rejoice at a 6 win season. We all hope SMU is the "surprise" team of 2003. Let's face it...someone who is expected to win 3-4 games will go bowling this year. It never fails...just as someone who is expected to compete for a conference championship will see the wheels come off as they come crashing back to a sub .500 season
When you look at our schedule and games against TTech, Okie St, Boise, Fresno & TCU, it's hard to EXPECT this year's team to have a winning season, but I will certainly not rule it out. Thos eteams are good, but they are not Ohio State & Miami. This time of year, everyone feels they have improved from last year. There is no doubt in my mind that SMU will be an improved team. Thjere's a fine line between winning an losing. I don't think there is any question but that everyone who cares enough to come on this board to talk about the Mustangs sincerely wants these guys to shock the nation...the sooner the better!

As always, well said and with class. Every year someone "exceeds expectations". Why not us, why not now? Pony Up
Re: Stallion, what do you make of this...I agree...5 wins is a respectable season this year, I hope for 6, and would be ecstatic with 7 or a god send with 8.
Let's get out of the gate with a 2-2 start and I think everything will be great.
Re: Stallion, what do you make of this...You're right about that 2-2 start; if that could be accomplished, it would have this year's team well on their way to a very successful season.
Re: Stallion, what do you make of this...SWEET CHRISTMAS! DREAM BIG! FOUR AND OH TO START!
