If the Big XII was to vote Baylor out, and I'm not sure that will get serious consideration...obviously Arkansas would be the logical "dream" replacement and a natural rival for UT & OU, not to mention Missou. But...Arkansas fits pretty well in the SEC, too and revenue sharing in the Big XII falls short of what Arkansas gets from the SEC every year.

I still think the NCAA decision on whether to allow the ACC to play a championship game with only 11 teams will be the key to whether the Big XII even considers ousting Baylor.

If Baylor dropped out on their own and the Big XII needs a "southern" division replacement, I kind of like UTEP as a candidate with more similarities to other Big XII schools, not to mention the Sun Bowl. Houston would be another possibility. I just don't see another private school.

I truly doubt the Big XII will toss Baylor for several reasons. The first is 1-A numbers. With the Big East teetering, and the non-BCS schools having about 5 fewer votes than the BCS schools for 1-A council matters, dropping Baylor could tilt the 1-A council to the non-BCS schools who would instantly vote for a playoff. The BCS would rather keep a whipping boy around, than allow that to happen. Secondly, there is the antitrust issue. Tossing Baylor would give more credence to the antitrust allegations levelled against the BCS. I think it would be more likely that internally Baylor might de-emphasize sports on moral grounds and drop to Division II. For the Baptist Church which runs that school, it is a real black eye for them, and what is the old scripture passage, if you right eye offends thee, poke it out. They could decide that money just isn't worth the temptation to cheat.

There will be no DP. The Baptists make take some control but will not deemphasize sports- too much money involved. IF for some reason the Big 12 kicked Baylor out (they won't) only CSU is a fit. So what they belong the northern division geographically. KSU, LU or MU could move to the south. Baylor will take its punishment (probably get a reduced conference share of the money if the NCAA is really [deleted] them) and life will go on it's merry way for Big 12 and other BCS schools barring litigation succeeding. TCU would not be asked, nor SMU, Houston, UTEP and Arkansas has nothing to gain. The SEC makes just as much money and its just as good of a conference. Its reputation outside of Big 12 viewing area is as good or better. It's hard for Texans to realize that the world is bigger than the Big 12.

If we are going to say CSU is the ony only fit, why would you have two Colorado schools in different divisions, when ALL other schools in the same state are in one division. That is the most unrealistic of them all.

If anything (baylor is really dropped), Arkansas will get asked, they will wait for the NCAA decision on 11 team conference championships, and if that does not pass, I would suspect they fancy offers.

Divisions are not carved in stone. If you lose a south division team, a north division team may be put in the south to make room for CSU in the north. It is all about money. But as I said, nothing will happen to Baylor except some NCAA penalties. I don't know if teams on probation get as much TV money as those not on probation but wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of incentive to stay "clean".
