Promote the program? Come on Dale Hansen's job is not to promote the program-go buy some neat-o advertisements with touchdowns and cheerleaders for that. He asked the questions his audience want to hear. The SMU community does not define his audience.

JJ Should have punched him in the throat.

"I have some good friends in Tyler that are pretty upset about...uh...what's his name"

What a tool.

Problem with Dale is that he chooses to focus on the negative rather than the positive for SMU...we got three commits in the past two days and he rehashes a story that is dying quickly???

Couldn't agree more. I'm not SMU fan (no kidding) but even if I were I'd be hard pressed to say that interviews are meant to be "fluff" pieces.

If he interviewed Todd Dodge I'd expect questions like "So Todd, your team won 2 games last season...do you really think you can turn things around in Denton?" or "I've heard a lot of talk about a new stadium. Are you any where close to this being a reality?"

It's what the media does. Positive news doesn't get ratings. Again, I'm just glad to be on the news and have some buzz about the school. JJ makes the buzz positive.

Emmitt - maybe he can ask dodge about the racial discrimination there at NTSU.

Hanson made a career out of bashing SMU. Remember Hanson thinks of himself as the blue collar everyman who loves nothing more than pounding the "rich, spoiled" SMU.

To say we had good coaches over the past 4 years is ridiculous. I would say that Rossley was the only high caliber coach we had - who had the misfortune of having a bone head AD.

Ignore Hanson. He will always look for the black cloud when presented with a silver lining at SMU.

It was exactly what I was expecting. And Stallion's right, DH asked questions the public wanted to hear, myself included. Hansen did his job.

Personally, I thought JJ didn't do very well. I guess he saves his best stuff for the football field.
