DH never misses a chance to kick SMU in the balls, and then give that stupid smirk.

I don't think DH blind sided JJ. I am sure he new the question would be asked. He gave an answer that was not completely satisfactory but Hansern didn't have a follow up question. My take on what he said was one of his coaches evaluated the player and made the decision with out involving JJ. If you recall the articale in the paper quoted the high school coach as saying he was informed by the Dir. of Football Operations. All Jones was doing was covering the staff decision. He may have told them "we don't honer PB offers unless we can use them in our system". If he is going for speed then one must assume that the kid who weighted in well in excess of 300 lbs was prob. damn slow.

Remember, he's been wearing Hawaiian shirts and leis for the last few years. He's not used to wearing logo shirts, etc. He's been in SMU gear for just about every other appearance thus far. I'm just pissed he didn't deck Hansen.

"Journalistic?" By his own admission, he spouted off for the entire Bill Parcells era about what an egomaniacal jerk Parcells is/was .... without ever having met the man. I know they shield the coaches from too much media, but Parcells worked the media beautifully, and he did take the time to meet Mike Doocy, Newy Scruggs, and of course Babe Laughenberg.
Doesn't sound like journalism.

MY FRIENDS TOLD ME? Really?

What a cowardly cop-out. If nothing else, he could say that the newspaper owned by the same company that owns his station employs a "reporter" who wrote a story about it and claim he read the story. The "friends" claim is weak.

Didn't Bob Knight "re-evaluate" some kid in the last couple of years after the kid had verballed to Tech?

Man, how funny would it have been to have Bob Knight on a stool next to Hansen and watch Hansen pull the same crap he pulled with Jones?

21 years later, and that big fat alcoholic, still brings up the penalty in every smu story. almost every question he asked, had a negative ambush in it.
