[quote="ThadFilms"]Holy Hell!!! Condolences to Jesuit indeed.

My Jesuit Rangers are gonna' get rocked. Mother of pearl!!! But I definitely will have to schedule one of my trips to see the Ponies to coinside with game against one of those Plano powers.

Ignoring the fact that I was an Allen Eagle back in the day, Allen is the power in the district and has been the #1 seed in the district. Can't remember the last time we lost to a "Plano Power." Southlake on the other hand...

I stand corrected..... I will definitely have to plan a trip around Jesuit playing Allen. Thanks for setting me straight Brian.

DAMN they broke up the Little SWC-a report I saw said Abilene Cooper is going to 4A and Abilene is going east-far east to play schools like Burleson west of Ft. Worth.

From what I hear, Lake Highlands is absolutely thrilled with the new alignment. Trading out the Plano schools and Allen for four lame DISD football schools and Carrollton Creekview should bode well in all sports for them.

My guess is the powers that be at Jesuit are probably wishing they never left TAPPS about right now.

When I attended Jesuit (early 90s) we regularly played Allen in football. And for that matter, we also played Plano, Clark and Shepton only to get throttled.

Should be interesting to see how we fare against the Eagles knowing that that Allen's program has improved over the past 10 years.

Go Jesuit and Go SMU!

Wouldn't be so quick to call Skyline "lame." I'm sure they could give Lake Highlands a little bit of a challenge considering that they went to the regional final in the Division I bracket, only to lose to Plano. They are a very well coached team.

yep, and two more will be open in 2009 I think. The plan is to keep building high schools so that they all remain 4A, and so that my taxes remain way too high.

Weird.

Mesquite, North Mesquite, Horn, Tyler Lee, Tyler John Tyler, and Desoto (why?).

Why Desoto to take Longview's spot? Why not Wylie?

Nah.... not at all it was a joke. Jesuit wanted to play with the big boys.... As cs09viking alluded to - we'd get throttled by the public schools in the beginning of the year, only to move to the TAPPS schdeule and cake alk our way to the State Championship. The only good game was vs. Houston Strake Jesuit.

Agreed.

And me? Mid nineties - '93 to '97 - can't get much more mid than that. We'd go through the first few weeks with one stunning upset and lose the rest and really be inconsolable... but then the TAPPS schedule was a joke. We just were so MUCH bigger than those schools population-wise they didn't have a prayer of competing.

ah...fellow ranger. nice to see you here. and i agree with your sentiment as well. with Wunderlick at the helm, the program has done much better than the late-Pasqua days. as the General said earlier, Jesuit will be fine.

and hell no...i would never want to go back to TCIL. thats a joke.

Don't know why but I remember a couple year ago...2002 I believe...when Longview/Lufkin/Lee/and JT ended up the only teams in one district because Rockwall and DeSoto complained about it.

Would be surprised if DeSoto didn't try and get out of it this district again.

No protest from DeSoto this time

DeSoto athletic director Dave Meadows said he doesn't expect any protest from his school district about being placed in District 11-5A with the Tyler and Mesquite schools.
In 2002, DeSoto won an appeal after being placed in an East Texas district.

"The difference this time is Longview and Lufkin are no longer part of the district,'' Meadows said. "We're looking forward to playing the Mesquite schools. We were already scrimmaging Tyler Lee and playing John Tyler.''

Meadows said it was irritating to no longer be in a district with neighbors Duncanville and Cedar Hill, but a non-district football series was quickly scheduled with Duncanville for the next two years. However, DeSoto and Cedar Hill couldn't arrange a game.

Looks like Allen gets to play all three Plano schools on the "road." The nice thing about playing the Plano schools is the fact that we bring a much bigger and louder crowd and the stadium is closer to half of Allen than Eagle Stadium. It is like playing all your district games at home.

TCIL.... indeed.... what cs09viking said.

....

Ahh, yes the great Wunderlick.... my Freshman year English teacher... and back then he was coach of the Freshman squad. I once infamously taunted him my senior year with, "You'll never coach varsity here, Bobby W." I did the sports for the morning announcements. Wunderlick would send his home room out to prevent me from making my way to the offices to deliver the announcements (one v. 24 ... they usually succeeded). It was a running joke.... that is until I was kicked off the announcements for one of my Chris Berman-esque nicknames that was just a tad across the line.

Wunderlick won that battle without him having to fire the final salvo. Then his first season as head coach, I made it out to a game, we won, and afterwards I caught up with him... "I guess I'm just not head coaching material, huh Thad?" All in good fun, Bob... all in good fun.
