Man, I really, really hope somebody somewhere gives that kid a scholarship.

Why? It's one thing to lie about a scholarship offer...it's entirely another to go through with holding a press conference - in front of your family, friends and school - announcing your decision to go to a school which has never heard of you. All the while you know this school has never heard of you. Then you try to keep up the ruse for a few days, telling the police about phantom agents and recruiters.

That isn't sad, that's insane. There's no school that should want to go within 10 feet of a kid with those kind of problems.

I edited it out. I posted that only after I read the article above (about Riley, then about rydel having been a Riley type in the past)...but after posting I read the part about the kid making it up over on the recruiting board. Another reason why it's a pain to have multiple threads about the same thing.

hes not going to be playing at any D level football school. JUCO for him if he still has the heart to play ball.

i dont see any FBS or FCS HC giving his kid a shot right away. Let him learn his lesson and it will make him a better player/"young" man (>40) in the long run.
