Let's see....

Outside of the NE kicker, was there even 1 C-USA player that contributed during this past Super Bowl?

It would not surprise me in the least if during their WORST year, Texas, OU, LSU, USC or Ohio State contributed more to the NFL than SMU has in their last 20 years combined.

True...RB Ahmed Bradshaw went to Marshall, but he never ran the ball during the playoffs.

So a kicker and a RB who never had a running attempt during the playoffs...I am probably missing someone else, but I think you get my point.

Edit = he may have indeed ran the ball during the playoffs - I really don't know. I went to the NFL website but just noticed they didn't have playoff statistics.

Bradshaw had 208 rushing yards in the playoffs with 1 TD, 18 more rushing yards in the postseason than in the regular season. led the team in rushing 2 of the 4 games. he came on really strong and the team needed him for their late push

Pats LB Adalius Thomas played at USM 8 years ago and hes a big contributor on D. Randy Moss was a huge impact player at Marshall (when it was a FCS school

That is a lot harder for me so I watched the Super Bowl.

My biggest problem is just deciding Atlantic or Pacific.

actually while the point is generally true that the BCS conferences who almost all get their players from the 3 4 and 5 star players contribute more to the NFL I saw some report of a very large number of CUSA players on the Super Bowl teams

I know he did not play, but isn't Troy Brown a Marshall guy? i Know Larry Izzo, special teams . . . specialist is from Rice. Asante Samuel is UCF... seems to be some CUSA teams contributing...

and i just saw that the NE punter hanson is from Marshall!

Since I am bored at work, I am going to bore you! The number of players for each team in the Super Bowl from BCS and Non-BCS/I-AA schools:

NE
BCS - 44 Non-BCS/I-AA - 16

NY
BCS - 44 Non-BCS/I-AA - 25

Total BCS - 88 players Non-BCS - 41 players

Total # of BCS schools = 74 (not sure about N.D/Navy/Army/W. Kentucky) teams

Total # Non-BCS schools = 42 teams

Total # I-AA = 122 teams
Sports, and all that implies.

You will have your best chance going to the Atlantic...it's much closer.

I'd also bet that a good number of those non-BCS players signed or could have signed with BCS schools, but had academic issues, behavior problems, flunked out or transferred out of BCS schools.
