So in honor of June Jones, will the Mustang Band be resurrecting "Cy Barcus Hawaiian Shirt Fridays"?

I think it's important that they do - who would have thought a band director at a methodist school in the middle of Texas would invent something associated with Hawaii?

I was on campus Saturday and noticed the blue wind/privacy screens had been removed from the fences surrounding the practice fields. Did anyone ever figure out what we had to hide? Swinging gate offense?

that's part of Jones' 'bring it on' attitude. anyone can come see what we're going to run, and you had better be ready.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Strenght Coach

Postby smaniac38 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 2:12 pm

I noticed the article mentioned strength gains and other typical off season conditioning. This is a dumb question but is Vick V. still our conditioning coach? I know he was beloved by the the players last year.

Why do people keep talking about Hawaiian shirts and Hawaiian music? He's OUR coach now, not "the former Hawaii coach."

It is interesting that the "positive reinforcement" issue continues to come up. I have spoken to far too many players under Bennett, that were far too worried to screw up and make a mistake instead of making a play. Bennett was one of the most intimidating people I have ever met and it obviously carried over to the playing field. Maybe these kids can relax a little and start playing instead of worrying about messing up.
