Take a look at the World Series winners over the last 15 years and the standing this year.... Also, 7 pm in Texas is still pretty damn hot...even at 10 pm it can be 90+ in the summer. And while it is hot in the early football games, it's typically only the very first week (or maybe 2) that get so hot...and it's also football, which is always going to draw better than baseball (especially in the South).
5-12 day games, 24-16 night games stat for the Rangers just announced on the telecast. Hmmm....maybe you have a point.
You did see my after my comment about the Marlins, right?

I saw it, but I wasn't sure what you meant. I'm with you on football - play it outside...when it comes to baseball retractable roofs should be the ONLY option in hot/tropical climates (Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, Tampa, etc.). I love that the Twins will be playing in an open stadium soon...the Metrodome is just awful.

Houston got it right, they were smart. It's not hot at all yet, but the Ballpark is a sweatbox.
As for parking, if you come down Six Flags way to Randall Mills, you can park for $7 and avoid traffic. Much, much easier than the beatdown of the main lot. Even if I had a pass I wouldn't park there. The in/out access can't be beat, and hop right back on 30.

I'm telling ya...pay the $30 for valet. its so easy and you are in and out like nobody's business. Yes, it's a high price and it upsets me paying it, but it's worth it if you value your sanity and time.

Or go to Sewell Lexus for an overnight (or all day) "test drive"...then you save $30 AND the gas! It's win-win!!

Don't worry, they'll still find a way to get their money.

A dome?????? Sacrilege! Baseball is meant to be played OUTDOORS, not inside, just like football!
at least someone knows what they are talking about

Got my 5 tickets for tomorrow night's game at Rangers Stadium. BornRed&Blue, RedRaiderSweetheart, the Mustang twins and I will be there in full force wearing our SMU gear!
Anyone else going to the game?

At the Richardson Chamber of Commerce luncheon last month where JJ spoke, he mentioned that he played football, basketball and baseball in high school. As he entered his senior year, he had to decide which one would be his 'money sport' and he picked football. He said he drew a circle on the side of the house and then practiced day-to-day throwing the football inside that circle. Something tells me he'll easily 'hit the mark' tomorrow night.

Located across the street from the center field gate is abundant parking. The closest to the stadium and is $10.00
I think I am going to head over there now.

JJ's 'first pitch' was a ball to the far left and in the dirt at home plate. He was dressed in a black Hawaiian-style shirt, cream-colored pants, loafers and - of course - no socks! Wish he had been wearing something saying 'SMU' on it. I believe his son accompanied him to the game. There was a young man who looked a lot like JJ standing with him wearing a dark blue 'SMU' t-shirt prior to JJ taking the mound for the 'first pitch'.
Nice crowd for a Wednesday night. Unfortunately, the Rangers didn't win the game, losing by a score of 15-9 to the Cleveland Indians.
Had some folks comment on our 'SMU' attire saying they were looking forward to the upcoming football season and were glad to see us out to support the Rangers.
