The only way he doesn't go is if he feels ND & its meddling boosters won't let him have enough control. Oh, that and if he doesn't get the offer...

He and Weis were apparently close friends at ND. When the alums start screaming for him to fire his good friend, Weis, he may find that to be a huge issue for him. He may choose to stay where he is and build than to leave and get into a no win situation with an overpaid coach who is his friend.

Dormmates...which is a huge deal for Domers. The dorms at ND are like frats, except that you live in them for three and sometimes four years of your college career.

The residential system, I think it's called. There were rumors one upon a time that SMU could switch to that. It got defeated by the large number of Greek alums on the Board, though.

I'm not sure what it's called. All I know is that when I visited ND as a prospective student, I stayed a couple of nights in a dorm. I decided that if I did decide to attend ND, I would request that dorm. It's that powerful of an experience.

No one can compete with ND

Postby Sam I Am » Tue Jun 10, 2008 10:18 am

ND is the top of the heap in the NCAA with its own TV contracts. Who wouldn't go if invited? Shouldn't we be discussing who should SMU hire as our next AD?

Haven't heard that. I have been told that Brady Quinn lived in Zahm, which was fitting because he was the stereotypical Zahmbie.

(For those who don't know, St. Ed's and Zahm have a huge rivalry...and they are located right next to each other)

brady ended up living in dillon actually. he started out in zahm but quickly realized the zahm lifestyle involved far too few women - not that notre dame has much to offer in that category anyway. the female population is an important part of college life that SMU will always dominate over ND.
