What an intelligent response. Lack of institutional control much?[/quote
That's all you can say when you know the allegations are true... And With regards to the "Pony Bowl" as a 3rd or 4th stringer that's all you do have to look forward too. These kids play because they love the game and if they never got a chance to truly compete they'd go crazy if all they did is practice. It also helps coaches evaluate kids in game like situations. How many times has someone come out of the woodwork and been a star as a senior? That situation is more likely to happen in programs that don't scrimage often... If it don't make money it don't make sense
Honestly, you know about as much as the next person so I don't know where you get off pointing fingers at some media-hyped "smoke" that hasn't been resolved. Maybe there's a reason it hasn't come out - perhaps because (like everything else) it's been blown out of proportion in order to sell newspapers. But you don't know and I don't know so go take a Xanax and chill. There's a reason I won't get into these types of arguments - it's because they are unwinable against people who already have their minds made up. GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!
Where there's smoke there's Reggie Bush for sure ![]()
Any chance that Phillip gets some playing time this year? How is the rehab on his knee that got tore up in one of Bennetts infamous "Pony Bowls"?
Yes, there is a chance. But serious playing time, I doubt it. His route running is extremely lacking. Speed has been a serious issue. Hands even more of an issue. He was good in 3A but that has not translated to anything in college. Girls LOVE hearing about things like my car and my season tickets. I usually try to work in what street my parents live on, just so they know where I'm coming from. That's a deal closer. Always be closing!
That's especially true for Cedric Benson. Clearly not simply a USC thing. "Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." The Benediction, Doc Breeden, circa 1992
What?? I thought USC was the only school who cheated!!!! Thanks for clearing that up, OC!! GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!
Two kids in the last five years have gone to Ohio State from my high school. One's Ashton Youboty, CB for the Bills now.
For how that school recruits, "cheating" is putting it fairly lightly. We've never lost the tailgate.
Please elaborate
Did you flat out ask Hudman if he will be back??? I hope so, but the word I heard about two weeks ago, was that he is gone. I hope something has changed. If you notice, he is not on the roster, or mentioned in any of the preseason publications.
The base schollie for a football player there is a meal plan, dorms, books, $1200 per month stipend, gear and apparel, plus apartment rent. There are loopholes both of these kids knew about where, for instance, the apartment rent and stipend can start before a kid moves in. Neither of these kids, being upstanding people, used the loopholes, but both knew of their existence before signing on the dotted line. It works kinda like this - you tell the school your apartment lease begins in June, so you need rent money and your stipend, even though you don't move in till later. The school doesn't have any knowledge of room mate situations - it's a "good faith" system. Basically, you bill the school for the stipend and the apartment without ever having to live there. So ideally you liev with a roomie who pays you rent with the understanding that you'll pay the landlord the full amount. So you give the landlord's bill to the school, pocket the roomie rent, and love life. In essence, the school overlooks these because it is possible for them to be in good faith - ie kids staying close to campus all summer to work/work out. The net result is several thousand in cash to the student who knows how to take advantage of it. The majority of incoming players at OSU know this system, although few choose to use it. We've never lost the tailgate.
K, so it's not that bad, but you'd that if someone might at least wag a finger at them.
We've never lost the tailgate.
