(not endorsing any new cheating, btw)
And a loud "cha-ching!!!!" would be blasted over the sound system every time we crossed the goal line, right?
We can have plumes of $1 bills blast out over the crowd at each score as well!!! Think about how many (football playing) inner city rap fans will want to show up with platinum chains and giant gold dollar sign medalions! This will not only get publicity, it will bring together people of all financial backgrounds and increase recruiting!
We could get Pacman to make a special appearance. "Ducky Bobs, Pluckers, and Bob's Steak and Chop House are proud to welcome Pacman Jones to today's game, as SMU will with each Mustang touchdown 'make it rain'."

We have a lot of wealthy, influential alumni who need that constant reminder of what some of our slimiest boosters did to this program.
I don't think the boosters were slimy. They were only doing what someone (Bill Clements and Ed Cox) at the institution told them to do. Some of those "slimiest boosters" would love to contribute to the Mustang Club now, but SMU refuses to allow them.

These "slimy boosters" also help fund some of the programs that make SMU academically above the rest of much of the recruiting competition. Even though they can't contribute to the football program, they still contribute to the school. Whenever a stud recruit gets his decision down to SMU vs. Rice, you know we're in the running over any other C-USA school because our academics are better.
If anything, we need more slime.

Hopefully SMU quietly allowed them to start donating again. It would explain why the Circle of Champions does not have a public membership list.

Unfortunately, Bill Clements was tagged as the ring-leader of the scandal. Although he mismanaged a problem into an even larger one, he and his wife continue to be major donors to SMU, and SMU in Taos, NM.

At the time I'm pretty sure that guys like Sherwood Blount and George Owen and some others were given what was called by the NCAA a lifetime ban from the athletic department. And some of these boosters were actually leading the Parade rather than following it. They were in fact recruiting for SMU with direct contact with recruits to shield the Coaches from direct knowledge of their activities. In fact, I believe they bought players like Sean Stopperich from Pennsylvannia who the SMU Coaches were not even actively recruiting. (Stopperich had had serious knee injuries his Senior Year). Clements was the guy who made the monumentally stupid decision to continue paying players but he wasn't the guy actually contacting players (which is SLIMEY) with illegal offers and inducements. In somewhat of a parrellel to the USC situation it should be noted that Blount was building his own little Sports Agent business with prominent NFL and NBA clients-but in Blounts case there was simply no doubt that he was a representative of the university. I really don't think we need these people involved in the Athletic program.

For those of you who have never been to the Taos campus, it truly is beautiful.

The Legacy campus is absolutely aesthetically embarrassing. It looks like a bland business park or the TAMU campus.

It was the former EDS training facility and given to the school.

wouldn't legacy imply that it has been connected with the school for a really long time?
