One reason it is probably these 2 kids is they both were pretty error free qbs in high school last year. They seem to make smart decisions and were well coached.

Tons of QBs have played out of their mind on the HS level then came in and couldnt even handle the switch that quick to college. ie Jimmy Clausen.

Smith did sign under PB

He committed under Bennett. He signed with Jones, so when Jones got here, he could have not honored the commitment.
