He's here to turn SMU around and if anyone thinks that will happen immediately that's pretty short sighted. Many may feel that JW gives us the best chance to win immediately and there may be some truth to that. But JJ knows what he is doing and if he thinks someone other than JW is the best man for the job of leading SMU back to winning ways, I'm willing to relax knowing that someone who knows what the hell he is doing is making the decisions and is not taking a poll of message board posters.
Thank you!!
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

Let them. We will win more games this year than we did last year. JJ knows what he is doing, and I think that if this kid is as good as JJ obviously thinks he is then we will be ok.
And I want to see the nay-sayers eat their own kitchen tables when BLM leads us to a bowl game.

that should be very hard though to win more this year than last year. all we have to do is win 2 games.

Two is more than we won last year. Way to go out on that limb. I am chalking up your bowl prediction to the obvious fact that you've had six tequila shots to start the week.

Decision = Bad for this season, but it will pay off in the long run which was the plan to begin with. This has always been a 2-3 year turnaround project and it really doesn't make sense to start a Junior QB that isn't built for the Run & Shoot. Most people are expecting a losing 1st season anyway. Next year would be JW's last year and then we have a fall off in year 3 when we are back to a 1st time starter. I am pretty sure that June Jones is looking to put together a team that sustains a high performance level for a long period of time. This is why picking a QB with opportunity to start for 4 straight years is the correct choice. JJ hand picked him for his system before he even got to SMU. Everyone needs to calm down and let the man do his job.

This is a curious question. If Willis is supposedly the 3rd or 4th string, why isn't he taking any snaps with the Scout team?
Could the situation be that Willis is in the Top 2 and June is giving the others some serious snaps today in order to figure out which of the two gets the other spot?
BTW, I do see the value in getting the new guys in sooner than later otherwise there will be a void in a couple of years. We will see what happens. Unless there is a press release or JJ says something himself I don't think we will know anything until tomorrow's practice.

I know it is not hard to win more than last season. I also know that JJ thinks BLM will be more successful than JW. That being the case, it is reasonable to assume we have good QB. Might take time. Might not. I think a bowl is possible. I prefer to be optimistic about this whole deal.
Six tequila shots to start the week? Where are we meeting? The first six are on me.

1) I trust JJ when it comes to the QB. He will make the right decision.
2) Could it be that the narrowing down to the top two is done AFTER today's practice? It would still be Monday. I don't think those two have had a chance to run with the first team yet, maybe he is just giving everyone a shot. If Willis is just hanging out, it could be that he has locked down one spot and that the other spot is up for grabs...
Just a thought.

No, it's because JJ wants Willis gone! He is making it quite obvious to JW that his career at SMU is completely over and if I were JW I would transfer ASAP. JW would be a fool to stick around hoping to get a shot at winning his job back. It's not going to happen

Willis has nobody to blame but himself for getting in the doghouse in the first place.
