I liked the p.a. guy. Yes, he was cheesy -- but he did keep the bloody mary crowd in the game.

My brother asked if it was Ribby Paultz in the booth with that one.

You know what kept people in the game? Touchdowns... Lots of them.
And I think stallion hit the nail on the head. Sounded like a guy announcing the strippers at the mens club. "now coming to the stage... Itsssss Mandy!!!!
Awful. Absolutely awful. I rarely see so many smu people in agreement about anything.

Maybe we need to get a golf announcer type.

I saw that live back in the 80's. Didn't need to see it at Ford Stadium. What's wrong with listening to the Mustang Band?

Couldn't the same be said of the SMU defense?

b.s. The crowd wasn't in the game. Each time I looked around, I was one of handfull standing. Some guy in front of us clapped and stood after Tx State's band played, but never after one of our scores or forced turnovers. The majority of our fans are content to watch quietly. The players want us to get loud. I have lost my voice after tonight's game. The other folks around us needed to be reminded on every down to cheer. It is pathetic.

Calling it "high school" is missing the point - it's obvious they are trying to emulate the Mavs' WWF style strategy with the PA.
Though it annoys you and everyone you know, Cuban maintains that his surveys show fans overwhelmingly like the antics. It's not going anywhere.

The fact that you believe what comes out of cubans mouth destroys any credibility you ever had. Surveys? If you know anything about Cuban, the man wouldn't accept the results of any survey unless they suited his purposes. And Cubans shine is gone... Funny how a losing team will do that. Funny how a winning team makes him a genius. Spare us your Cuban [deleted].

That's fine Eddie P - maybe you can go picket outside HDNet or something -
Getting back to the point I think the Mavs effort is thought to be a successful model by SMU - thus I'd be surprised if they got rid of it anytime soon.
