Texas designated the Texas horned lizard (Phrynosoma cornutum), or "Horny Toad" as the official state reptile in 1993. "Horny toads" have an intimidating appearance but a docile and gentle nature. When a horned lizard feels threatened, it flattens and freezes in place, trying to blend with the ground. Texas now lists this unique animal as threatened.

Our cat (may he rest in peace) used to kill the endangered horned lizards and leave them on our front porch as a gift. I laughed every time. It was better than the more regular bird gifts. That was a cool cat.

True: Fact, we are called both, thus pony, or mustang is exact.
You on the other hand are a horned TOAD, or more exacting a lizard.
Therefore you are a lizi. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

News flash! High priority!

The Smews have discovered that a sea horse is not actually a horse! A Komodo dragon is not actually a dragon! A pronghorn antelope is not really an antelope! An American buffalo is not really a buffalo! A titmouse is nothing close to a mouse! A mountain lion is not a lion! A sea cow is not a cow! A jackrabbit is not a rabbit!

For the love all that's holy, how far does this conspiracy extend? You fellas have really started the dominoes tumbling with this thread. I expect regimes and empires will crumble, financial markets will collapse, and human civilization will be set back a thousand years.

By the way, you do realize that a Shetland Pony is not a mustang, don't you?

At least SMU's mascot is not in danger of extinction.
