Like hell. I've lived in both, and I got out of Fort Worthless as fast as I could. I'm in Plano now, but at least I can feel Dallas in the air, and I can't imagine living anywhere other than Dallas, or at least in the Dallas area. Dallas is a great city with more to offer in a single city block than Fort Worthless has in its whole city. A place that touts "the world's biggest honky-tonk" as a tourist attraction can not be confused with anything of "substance." FW is like Lubbock with a slightly taller skyline. Dallas, on the other hand is what's called a "city." Look it up, Frogs.
I'd rather live in hell than in Plano. And Fort Worth has quite a bit to offer. I still prefer shopping in Dallas, but Fort Worth is a far cry from Lubbock. TCU sucks miserably, but I'll take my city council over Dallas' any day!!

You're right, that Fort Worth has quite a bit to offer. Like crime free streets, like a school district that can tell its you know what from a pumpking, like a downtown that has some life to it, like traffic that can be negotiated in less than 45 minutes. Fort Worth folk can head to Dallas for the Nash exhibit, when the mood strikes, and the Mavericks. But for real life, good food, the Dallas Cowboys (soon to be in Tarrant County), and fun, head to Sundance Square and Fort Worth.

Let's not go overboard about that school district part. There is not a public middle school in Fort Worth that I would allow my kids to attend. I love this city, but it has its faults too.

Did you learn "pumpking" in that school district?
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

To bring the topic back around to the article, I thought this was interesting
"When SMU rebuilds its program, the rivalry will be renewed and become much more passionate. "
Doesn't he mean "if" instead of "when"? Now I am hoping for a resurgence too, I like SMU and think the rivalry is a good thing. But if June doesn't put up during his 5 year commitment, will the alumni base write another batch of checks for the next guy? Just curious as to your feelings on that.

I worked for the FWISD for exactly 1 month and said 'enough is enough' and resigned from a 6-figure salary job there. You really don't want me to tell you how bad that school district and administration is, do you?
BEAT THE HELL OUTTA TCU!

There's a resemblance. (Dr. Melody Johnson, FWISD Superintendent)
