This is one of those games that's kind of like going to a car race. You don't care too much about the result but you really want to see a good crash. I dislike both teams intensely. I also have to consider anything to puts the BCS in turmoil is a good thing and a TCU victory would do that. So, I'll watch the game hoping for a 20 overtime game and they call it a tie when the lights at Norman short out.

Hope OU hangs 50 on them to enjoy the experience!

HB Pony Dad has been here all of three months and he gets it! What is the matter with the rest of you?!?!?!?

If tcu wins this week, we will never ever ever year the end of it. We need ou to b-slap the frogs so hard that their great great grand children will feel it.

I'm all for BCS busters, but for Doak's sake...not the froggies. ANYONE but the froggies.

TCU offense vs. Oklahoma defense
The strength of TCU's offense is clearly a running game that features RBs Ryan Christian, Joseph Turner and Aaron Brown. All three are averaging better than four yards per carry and splitting carries among them helps keep all three fresh. In addition, QB Andy Dalton has rushed for a touchdown in seven consecutive games and currently is the team's second-leading rusher. The Horned Frogs take advantage of his mobility by running designed quarterback keepers with him but TCU will have a tough time getting its vaunted ground game going against an Oklahoma run defense that's giving up just 1.9 yards per carry. Though the loss of DT DeMarcus Granger to a foot injury weakens the Sooners' interior run defense, his absence won't devastate the front four, either. In fact, NG Adrian Taylor and DT Gerald McCoy are strong enough to help Oklahoma win the battle in the trenches against TCU's undersized interior offensive line. Behind them, MLB Ryan Reynolds is an effective interior run-stopper and WLB Travis Lewis has been around the ball all year. Last but not least, the Frogs' inconsistent passing attack will allow Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brett Venables to load up against the run when he sees fit, which doesn't bode well for TCU because 230-pound SS Nic Harris is built like a linebacker.

With Oklahoma slowing the run look for the Horned Frogs to supplement their running game with a quick-hitting passing attack. They will spread the field with WRs Jimmy Young, Walter Bryant, Bart Johnson and Jeremy Kerley, creating single coverage matchups on the outside for Dalton to exploit. Theoretically, these matchups will allow Dalton to get the ball out of his hands quickly and negate Oklahoma's pass rush. This is a concern for a Sooners secondary with two first-year starters at corner. However, Venables is aggressive and he should counter by playing press coverage on the outside. Playing his corners closer to the line of scrimmage will force Dalton to throw into tighter spaces and hold on to the ball longer. While TCU has surrendered just three sacks thus far that statistic is misleading because of the Horned Frogs' commitment to the run and their quick-hitting passing attack. Oklahoma DE Auston English and WLB Travis Lewis can provide pressure coming off the edge when Dalton is forced to look downfield, whether because of coverage or down and distance. In addition, FS Lendy Holmes has enough range to play a center fielder role when Venables walks Harris and the corners up to the line of scrimmage.

When: Sat., Sept. 27, 7:00 p.m. ET
Where: Norman, Okla.
Preview: First real test for Sooners
TCU's run defense has been even stingier than Oklahoma's (1.4 ypc), but that doesn't mean the Sooners' three-headed monster of RBs DeMarco Murray, Chris Brown and Mossis Madu won't produce this week. Oklahoma's front five should control the line of scrimmage, especially when the Sooners run left, where LOT Phil Loadholt and LG Duke Robinson are massive drive blockers. Loadholt and Robinson are capable of engulfing RDE Matt Panfil and DT James Vess. In addition, Murray, Brown and Madu all have the vision to take advantage of the sound blocking. Oklahoma's depth at running back and size up front put the Sooners in excellent position to wear down TCU's defensive front over the course of the game. The Horned Frogs' unorthodox 4-2-5 defensive front shouldn't give Oklahoma's offensive line much trouble, either, as the Sooners have an experienced unit that doesn't make many mistakes in terms of blocking assignments, and playing at home will make it easier for the offensive front to communicate. Finally, Oklahoma's strong play at quarterback and weapons at wide receiver will make it difficult for TCU to load up against the run.

QB Sam Bradford has been outstanding thus far, completing a remarkable 79.0 percent of his passes and throwing 12 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions. It's imperative that the Horned Frogs prevent him from getting into a rhythm by consistently applying pressure. They have recorded 14 sacks thus far with DEs Panfil and Jerry Hughes racking up 6.5 sacks each and NG Cody Moore chipping in with three. However, Loadholt can hold his own against Panfil and Hughes will have a difficult time turning the corner working against RT Trent Williams. Meanwhile, the interior offensive line can anchor and prevent Moore from getting push up the middle. The play of Oklahoma's offensive line isn't the only reason to believe the Horned Frogs won't be able to get to Bradford on a consistent basis. Bradford reads defenses fairly well and should have plenty of favorable matchups to exploit in this game. Nick Sanders and Rafael Priest give TCU a quality starting tandem at corner but it doesn't have the depth there to match up with WRs Juaquin Iglesias, Ryan Broyles, Manuel Johnson and Quentin Chaney. In addition, TE Jermaine Gresham's blend of size and speed will make it difficult for SS Stephen Hodge to stay with him so Bradford should be able to get rid of the ball quickly. The Frogs will be vulnerable to getting beat deep if they try to blitz and match up in man coverage on the outside.

Special Teams
Key individual matchup
TCU QB Andy Dalton vs. Oklahoma SS Nic Harris

Dalton is quick and athletic for his size but he doesn't have great top-end speed or elusiveness, so he needs TCU's misdirection quarterback keepers to keep the opposing defense off balance and create a seam for him to be an effective runner. Unfortunately for Dalton, the 230-pound Harris locates the ball quickly and rarely gets caught out of position. Harris also sheds blocks well for a safety and wraps up well, making him a valuable asset when Oklahoma wants to load up against the run. With that in mind, look for Harris to play a big role in the Sooners limiting Dalton's production on the ground. Dalton can't afford to lose track of Harris when the Horned Frogs drop back to pass either. TCU should run plenty of three-step drops that allow Dalton to get the ball out of his hands quickly. While Harris isn't much of a playmaker in coverage, he has adequate ball skills and playing him close to the line of scrimmage puts him in a position to make a play on the ball when Dalton throws underneath.
TCU PK Ross Evans is talented but inconsistent. While he's connected on six of his seven field goal attempts and has a long of 50 yards, his lone miss was a 20-yard field goal attempt that sailed wide right in the season opener and he missed a point-after try earlier this year. Drew Combs handles the kickoffs for the Horned Frogs and he's averaging 62.6 yards per attempt with five touchbacks. He will kick to Iglesias and Murray, both of whom have flashed big-play ability. Combs has also kicked the ball out of bounds twice this year and it's important that he avoid making that mistake this week. The Horned Frogs just can't afford to give the potent Oklahoma offense quality starting field position.

Horned Frogs P Anson Kelton has been impressive thus far, averaging 41.9 yards per punt and placing eight of his 20 punts inside the 20-yard line. Kelton isn't the only Horned Frog to punt this year, though, as Dalton has punted three times and dropped one of his kicks inside the 20. Regardless of who is punting, don't be surprised to see TCU kick away from Broyles, who will handle returns. Broyles' ability to make the first defender miss and his formidable top-end speed make him a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball.

Oklahoma redshirt freshman PK Jimmy Stevens has attempted just one field goal attempt and his lack of experience is reason for concern. Matt Moreland handles the kickoff duties for the Sooners and he's averaging 63.5 yards per attempt. He will kick to TCU KORs Christian, Brown and Stephen Hodge this week. Christian has been the most productive of the three and he could make an impact working against an Oklahoma kickoff cover unit that surrendered a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown earlier this year. Sooners P Mike Knall is averaging 40.5 yards per attempt and he's placed four his 11 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line. He will kick to Horned Frog PR Jeremy Kerley, who's averaging an impressive 18.6 yards per return so it's important that Oklahoma continue to cover punts well.

Scouts' Edge
The last time these teams met in Norman, TCU pulled off a stunning 17-10 upset win over a heavily favored Oklahoma team in 2005. Don't expect history to repeat itself in this one. The Sooners' ability to control the line of scrimmage will be key as Oklahoma's offensive line will continue to pave the way for its talented backs against a defensive front that has yet to see an offensive line as talented or strong as this one. In addition, Bradford should have plenty of time to scan the field and locate the open man when the Sooners drop back to pass. On the flip side, the Sooners' front four is capable of disrupting the Horned Frogs' ground attack with quickness on the outside and power on the inside. Consequently, Oklahoma will put Dalton in situations with pass-heavy tendencies. Look for the Sooners' front four to pin their ears back and fly upfield in those situations and it all adds up to a comfortable home win for Oklahoma.

Prediction: Sooners 49, Horned Frogs 21

The Sooners remember how quiet Owen Field was after TCU's last visit. Expect OU to be focused on the Frogs Saturday.

I don't blame you for pulling against us. Sorry you ran into some unruly tcu fans...hopefully some of the guys on this board can attest that we aren't all like that. Curious- what last TD are you referencing? The option run?

I hope TCU gets killed, but in reality I think it will be a close game. Any SMU fan who is rooting for TCU should be shot.

I think that we all need to at least concede that any Native Texan has an in-borne inability to tolerate, much less root for Okies. If it's OU vs. Satan, I'm taking Hell and giving the points.

So I'm personally rooting for an Asteroid to flatten the stadium.

I'm right there with ya. 42-29 is all you need to know. 42 Texans on the OU roster and only 29 from Okla. And there is a reason everyone graduates from OU and moves to Dallas and Houston.....Okla is the armpit of America.

Given our lack of football success for the last 20 years, can we really make fun of TCU? Didn't they just kick our [deleted] all over the field a week ago?
