You can not say pass interference in Arkansas without that game being brought up. They are very bitter.

I have never seen the "uncatchable" call used when the offending DB actually had his hands on the ball while knocking the receiver down. Extremely bad call and I hope that official is reprimanded accordingly. A TD there rather than a FG COULD have made a difference in the game.

Terrible call and I think it certainly had an effect on the game. Having to settle for a FG does kill momentum. While you never know what may or may not have happened from that point forward, there is no excuse for that kind of obvious mistake (from the entire crew).

Instead, he cut off the receiver. The same play was called against an Arkyland DB during the SMU-Arkland game in 1982. To this day, the Arkyland faithful think that a DB can cut off a receiver’s right to the ball. Not exactly the highest caliber of college ball available in the state.

The DB has a right to the ball but his right to the ball doesn't trump the reciever right to the ball.

Anyone who can remember a penalty called during a game 26 years ago must have something going for him/her. Impressive!

I live in Arkyland and I am reminded of that call every day. It seems the official once again robbed the beloved Razorbacks of certain National Championship glory with that single call. It isn't that imressive when it is an everyday reminder.

As I recall King Broyles had that referee banished and had the NCAA change the rule regarding interference penalties to what it is today. NCAA just rolled over for him.

Sad thing is that the banished referee and Broyles have not spoken at family reunions since.
