Still would have thrown the ball 2 times on that drive....because relative to our D....our Offense SHINES.....regardless of the quarter.
The way to win that game was to make a first down, not to hope the FG attempt was wide right.
Ah...but the offense wasn't making first downs all that often in the fourth quarter. Obviously, since UH scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, we had at least two possessions (actually more than that, but at least two) and came away with a total of 3 points. I also seem to remember that the one pic before the Hail Mary pic actually occurred in the fourth quarter also. I know that our defense is not the highest quality D out there, but they are improving. They actually did a pretty good job through three quarters holding UH scoring down...however, when the offense keeps giving the ball back to the other team without putting points on the board, there is only so much the D can do. This was a team loss...period. We were up by 12 points at the end of the third quarter. If we match their 21 points in the fourth quarter we win by 12 (great math huh?).
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
