I wonder if SMU's scouting was as perceptive as Alberts. That's the second time this year an announcer has basically pinpointed the ballgame involving SMU. Remember at Rice when the announcer said that SMU is trying to run quick screens and bombs to protect Mitchell from having the read the center of the field. The announcer stated that once Rice shuts those plays down, Mitchell could struggle.

I noticed that as well. Not a fan of Trev Alberts, but he was spot on with his analysis. It is scary to think that the color analyst was prepped better than our coaching staff as far as the opposition’s personnel.

Had we scouted that kid better, we could have possibly forced some turnovers.

It's funny hearing this from you Stallion. Of all people who harped that tackling is more than form, that it's athleticism and size, to even insinuate this was a scouting problem is funny. Do you really believe Trev Alberts scouted Navy better than our entire defensive staff? That's something that's not complicated or nuanced and really easy to spot. Come on now...it wasn't Dobbs' pitch option that was hurting us, he didn't even need to go that far in his progression because he didn't need to...we couldn't stop either the dive or his runs...decisions regarding the pitch man didn't hurt us except for the few plays the first qb played.
