What is your fondest memory from that gameday, GSP?

That I was 13 and really didn't pay attention to SMU football at the time.

it says 330 yards "from Arkansas speedy backs and receivers"-not rushing. Gary Anderson was one tough hombre in that game-one of the quckest backs the game has ever seen. Arkansas got 6 yards Total Offense in about the last 6 minutes when the game was on the line.

I didn't live in Texas at the time so my affiliation with SMU began when I first toured there in 1985 and then started in 1987. My first two years on campus were the Death Penalty years.

But I was born in Texas and followed UT heavily (still do). I remember the 15-13 Texas win over SMU at Texas Stadium in 1983 when Jeff Ward kicked 5 FGs to win that game. It was on CBS. I was pretty pumped Texas won the game because I knew SMU was darn good. Lived in Minnesota at the time.

It was 15-12. Texas was ahead 13-12 off of two field goals, and one touchdown. SMU went for two, didn't make it, and then Texas sacked McIlhaney for a safety. Great game.

Wasn't it Gary Anderson that made it all the way through High School and four years of Arkansas and couldn't even read?

GSP..at least you have the UConn and Vandy games to fall back on...did you travel to ND during your junior year for that game?

Didn't go to South Bend -- not sure why? 65-6?

Bowen caught the TD right in front of me -- I was in the front row in the north end zone.

Went to the Astrodome for 95-21. Went to College Station for 63-14. And of course, I was in the student section for the Rice game when we came back from the DP.

Think I was out of town and missed the win over North Texas.

95-21. Give us that last TD for the 74 pt loss.

However, our D was stellar in the 4th Q holding their waterboys and asst. trainers to under 100.

That is the difference between a team knowing how to win, and that it is going to win, versus a team that has no idea how to win. See also the Tech game the week before.

My fondest memory of this game was walking in with a friend who had on a tee shirt that said Beat Arkansas and an attractive female Hog fan shouted at him to "Take off that shirt", to which he replied, "I will if you will take off your shirt." For a brief second I thought he had struck a bargain.

An yes, it is pass interference when a DB impedes a receiver from the ball by slowing down in front of them and putting his hands behind him to help in the matter. The Hogs need to get over that one.

I can confirm the General was at the Houston 95 to whatever game b/c I was there as well. My favorite memory of the game is Forrest Gregg going after the Houston coach (I think Pardee ?) after Houston called the timeout to have Ware throw deep to the endzone and they were already up 5 or 6 TDs.
