Forget them not wanting us, why would we want them? Why would we want that? No regional revalries, controlled by a bunch of Utah crazies, weird games on off nights, NO DRAW from anywhere, no bowl tie -ins - no TV tie ins - lose on egame and you are in the Ft Worth bowl, everyone is so far west that nobody even knows your score until they go to bed.......check that ...maybe it is the right conference for us.
Never happen - to many John the beheaded in power to let that happen. Sent from my KOREAN knockoff using Tapdance 5
And you would know this how? Please list all your credentials, contacts (with phone numbers, email and address) and post the minutes of all executive meetings you personally attended. Just send 'da money.
Does Airport Al and his Gang of Five ring a bell? If the MWC were to expand, it would go to 12 teams any other expansion makes no sense. Assuming expansion to 12 there would be the Gang of five division plus one and the Red-eyed step-child division. Why does that matter? AFA and BYU - arguably the best travelling teams in the MWC want to be in a division with Wyo., CSU, and Utah. That means that if you're not in that division you get to see BYU and AFA at your stadium in football every four years. Consider that Boise in their hayday and Fresno with David Carr were two of the lowest attended games in SMU history and they are two other names mentioned for the expansion. Would Fresno, Nevada, SDS, UNM, UNLV bring any crowds? Tulsa, Tulane, UH, UTEP and Rice all would bring better crowds that those teams. And then there's travel costs. At best our division in the MWC could consist of TCU, UTEP, UNM, CSU, and AFA by distance. We play TCU anyway. So, it makes no economic sense, unless we buy into the canard that TCU bought into that the MWC will be awarded BCS status. That ain't gonna happen. No way, no how. CUSA is a good fit for us. Even if the BE came calling for Memphis or ECU (ain't gonna happen), we still have our division and could easily add teams that fit like La. Tech and hold my nose UNT or NM State.
Correct the last thing TCU wants is a 12 team MWC-they might consider getting out in that scenario because they won't be in a division with BYU, Utah or Air Force-well maybe Air Force but I doubt it. This is really silly because SMU is not interested and neither is the MWC.
Air Force would win CUSA with ease. Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV would probably win CUSA, maybe have some trouble with Tulsa. Wyoming and SDSU would finish around the middle of the pack. All of them would [deleted] SMU like a pimp on his crackwhore.
What do you mean "this year"?
I didn't understand this comment. It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.
AFA barely beat Houston at Ford Stadium when the UH players' homes were being ravaged by a direct hit from a Cat3 hurricane. UH would have won at home on a clear day. UH lost by seven to TCU at the Texas Bowl last year and was firing into the endzone as time expired. Not so clear cut.
