The Aggies are not so stupid as to fire a coach after one year. They'd never find a replacement (except maybe Phil Bennett).

Actually, A&M may have the backing of alums to buy out Sherman and bring in someone else. They went cheap in the 1st search and it cost them. If A&M wants to be relevant ever again in the Big 12 South then they need to step it up and start paying for some serious coaching talent. Otherwise they are going to be battling Baylor for last place for a long long time.

But if a coach comes in knowing he only has one year, he's not coming. Clearly the Aggies need a rebuild and its going to take more than one year to get them back in the hunt in the Big XII south. The Big XII South by the way is getting to be a victim of its own success. With UT, TT, OU, and OSU they've got a real imbalance in that league.
