Ah, for sure. In fact, if UT beats A&M and OSU beats OU, you can pretty much write UT into that title game spot.

You're just still whining about Texas beating USC in the Rose Bowl to win the national championship. Sucked to be you that night, didn't it?
Gee are your panties in bunch?
I didn't say anything about past Rose Bowls or UT's victory therein.
And it NEVER sucks to be me!
FYI UT deserved the NC as they not only stuffed White on a fourth-and-2 at the Texas 45 with 2:09 left in the game, but VY drove them to a well deserved Victory with 19 seconds to play.
Without doubt one of the most exciting College Games every played and I'm glad I got to watch!
Take your MEDS!

I thought the BCS created a rule that you have to win your conference to play for the National Championship. Didn't it happen after the Nebraska fiasco?

Stallion wrote:that's the scenario that Texas could well qualify for the BCS Title Game w/o going to the Big 12 Title Game. If OU loses, and UT remains ahead of Florida then Tech goes to the Big 12 Title game and UT will be an At-Large team that might very well still making the BCS title game as the No. 2 BCS rated team. If Missouri wins the Big 12 Title in that scenario UT will still get an At-Large Invitation since it will be higher ranked and have only 1 loss while OU and Tech will have 2. I bet Mack would settle for that. Of course, Florida with remaining games could pass Texas.
yea i already posted this exact same thing about 8 posts earlier

No - look at the 2003-2004 season. OU lost to KState in the Big 12 championship game but still went on to play in the national championship game. (they got killed - but could have lost the conference and won the NC)

Note that both the SEC and ACC have the same 3 way tie breaker as the Big 12, with one MAJOR exception. In both of those conferences, if the 2nd highest ranked team in the BCS poll is within 5 spots of the higher-ranked team, then it reverts to head-to-head between those two teams.
Seems fair to me.
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

At least we can both enjoy watching Fat Charlie being embarrassed this weekend and hopefully losing some of his OVERBEARING ARROGANCE .
You have a Happy Thanksgiving as well!

It broke my heart when their game-winning field goal attempt against Syracuse just fell short. I hated to see that.

I haven't decided as yet.
ND is so stinkin pathetic that it probably won't be much of a game but it always brings pleasure to my heart to watch the Fat Bass_Turd get his Arrogance slapped down!
USC-ND is my daughter's favorite game to attend but she is staying in Dallas for the Holiday.
Let's hope the real Trojans show up and pound the Irish in rememberance of Lou Holz!

this seems better than the current situation although it still obviously based heavily on the bcs rankings. why not factor in if the head to head was Home, Away or Neutral?
