Only if you buy my ticket At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
OK, Stal. Well, a Sunbelt team is the obvious choice as they have the fewest teams in conference. However, even I have no interest in a second I-AA team in 2009. There is no benefit to that At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. I agree on this, we could get a 7th home game, and play 13 total.
If SMU's gonna schedule another Div. 1-AA (FCS) team, go with the McNeese State Cowboys (Southland Conference) from Lake Charles, LA or the University of Montana Grizzlies (Big Sky Conference) from Bozeman, MT. Both teams have fans that travel and they'll give the 'Stangs a great game!
Whatever team it needs to be a cupcake game or very winnable game. I hope The Citadel, North Texas, Army, Utah St, New Mexico or San Jose St. We do not need a bodybag game.

An SMU versus Hawaii matchup makes no sense at all at this time especially in 2009 for either school except to the coaches and maybe some Hawaii fans unless of course, the light switch goes on completely for both schools offense where it could then really be pegged as the battle of the 4-wide R&S. Right now, both teams aren't even there yet which just reduces the appeal of such a matchup. 2010 or 2011 would be the best scenario for a one time matchup so that the two coaches can get it out of their system.
Hawaii's recent offensive productivity in their last few games is more of a result of the poor opposition rather than the unconscious competence which JJ espouses for this offense. A better gauge of Hawaii's offense will be next Saturdays game against BCS bound Big East champ Cincinnati where to be honest, the reality will be exposed that it all isn't there yet. Besides the novelty factor, SMU gains nothing having to travel to Hawaii because JJ isn't placing heavy emphasis on recruiting Hawaii (why should he with all that in state talent). For Hawaii, they also gain nothing except for maybe some still bitter fans who want to give JJ some razzing back at NoAloha Stadium.
I think the novelty factor is exactly why SMU @ Hawaii will happen. Though, as I said on this board before, I don't support it.
I think a second I-AA team is not an option. That leaves: i) Hawaii and another home gameagainst a Sunbelt or MAC team; ii) another road game against a BCS school; or iii) just a home game against a Sunbelt or MAC team. SMU might make big money by selling itself out, not that I would condone it. Certainly, more money than a home game being offset by travel to Hawaii. Oh, c'mon. Wasn't it you who said that J-Will will stay at SMU in order to get a degree from a top-notch school? And wouldn't it be stupid of J-Will to transfer going into his senior year at SMU?
No that wasn't me. If he wants to play he should transfer. I'm not convinced he will be given the opportunity to come back as he is completing his 4th year. It will be interesting to see if he plays another game for SMU after tommorow.
