I heard he weighs around 240...i bet by the time the season starts he could be around 255-260 without compromising too much speed or quickness.

who are our other options for a DE in a 3-4 Defense besides Smart, Thompson and Dizer? Hunt...he has a longggg way to go.

how much does dizer weigh?

Dont think Dizer coming back from neck injury, possibly one of the freshman 09's or the 6'9" Margus dude from Eustonia

I've seen Smart around campus and he definitely looks bigger than 240. I wouldn't mind seeing him back at end again. I've also seen Frazier and he looks like an absolute monster in person. He could probably see some pretty good time. As for Hunt, I have a feeling he will be awesome. If he had those kind of physical numbers coming out of highschool football, he would be a blue-chip recruit and would probably end up at a big time school. I feel like a guy with that kind of ability should be able to pick up football very quickly. The only setback I could see if he can't develop that killer mentality and ends up being a "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" type

I think the coaching staff said that Smart will be back at Defensive end and Yenga will be at outside linebacker. If smart is around 260 by the time the season starts I think he and Thompson will be a very nice tandem at defensive ends in the 3-4.

If Hunt contributes at all this year, I think it will be as a pass rush specalist in 3rd down passing situations only. It doesnt matter what type of athlete you are..when you put pads on for the first time, there is a massive learnign curve.

How big are we saying Marquis Frazier is right now? I'm less worried about about the bookends than I am the undersized noseguard. This should be a stout 300 lbs type who can take on two blockers and not get run over. I'm not sure about Frazier coming off of that injury and holding up an entire season in the middle, and behind him is.....

I heard Marquese Frazier weighs around 290. JJ seems to think he should make a huge impact. Behind him we have Evan H (6 foot 1 320 lbs). The website lists Torlan Pittman at 6 foot 1 260 lbs, but I think we weighs closer to 280. Website says Zac Thomas is 6 foot 4 260 lbs, but I know he is bigger than 260 as well. Chris Parham 6 foot 3 295 lbs?

There is no doubt that we have very little depth at DT, which is one reason the 3-4 makes sense

3-4 still only makes sense if you have a DT that can command a double team. It doesn't matter how many DT's you have.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

My point was I think we have that DT in Marquese Frazier, however his durability might be a question..so it might be nice to have one or two viable options to back him up..

Fact of the matter is no matter what Defense we run, DT is going to be a weakness.

Does it really matter if we have someone who can take on two guys? Even with 2 DT's last year our guys got shoved 20 yards back every play!

I just do not understand taking 7 DB's and only 1 DT =(

Then moving Chase back to O-Line. UNless he just was not cutting it we need DLine!

Anyone notice Flemming on the original list for LB? He played DE last year in passing situations.

Why do you think all of a sudden he should and will be a starting LB?

Yeah I wondered the same thing-but I do like his unexpected development at DE-leave him there-he is better suited to DE anyway.
