They will probably just end up keeping things the way they are .....the one potential is for any taunting in the field of play during the play, not a post play foul. Maybe I am wrong, but I would imagine if someone went high stepping down the sideline and giving the finger to the band before they crossed the endzone line, a ref could throw a flag and penalize the team 15 yards from the spot and not allow the TD anyway.

To me it all comes down to coaching, I hate mentioning Bud Grant and the Vikings for fear of exciting the General, but he had the best line of all time regarding end zone celebrations.

A reporter, after noticing that no Vikings ever spiked the ball or celebrated a TD after a score, asked Bud Grant if he had a rule against end zone celebrations and he said, "We don't have a rule....they just know they better not do it"....end of story, if the coaches didn't put up with it, the players wouldnt do it.

(You're response, "more than you, jerkwad, I was actually on the team." ... To which I respond by cowering in a corner.)

Excessive celebration is my favorite penalty in all of sports. I almost never disagree when it is called, and I have no problem with making the punishment more severe. Just hand the ball to the ref for crying out loud.

The rule is fine the way it is. Please don't give these buffoons any more discretion where they can take any more control of the game. I also seriously worry about the possibility of a gambling fix.
