Wow! Now you want me to go find 5 games in the Warm where a team passed for even more say 500 yards. I probably wouldn't have to leave the Big 12 South in any two week period to come up with those figures. You really showed me. There are a lot of college football games played every week. Look we don't really care how things are done up North. Seriously your "this is the way we do things in Nebraska" BS is getting more annoying that the Golden Gopher. Nebraska has never successful run the passing game at an elite level in College Football. Neither have the vast majority of Big 10 or other Northern Teams which have always relied on the running game. Cold weather affects the passing game as a General Rule-yes even 45 degrees. You're simply arguing the exception to be annoying.
I don't like it... I think we will win the game either way, but I think the potential W could have served as a momentum boost early on in the season. With the younger players, an early win would help with their confidence. Now instead on probably being 2-2 going into TCU we will be 1-2 and then 1-3 after the trip to Ft Worth. There is a big Difference between being 1-3 and 2-3 going into back to back home games against tough opponents. Hopefully we aren't still trying to pick up win #2 against Tulane in November.
"I'm a little different than your normal Texas coach, but I get it done, and we win."
Dude. Take a deep breath. No need to engage in personal attacks because one of your fellow alumni has a different opinion than you on a message board. And I don’t think I mentioned Nebraska at all, other than as one place where games are held that weekend (where I have watched Colorado pass the ball effectively in the cold a number of times.)
My whole point was only that plenty of teams (not Nebraska) have had plenty of success passing the football in weather far colder than Dallas at Thanksgiving. If Oklahoma isn’t worried about their passing game when they have gone to Arrowhead, and Boise and BC can pass the ball in Idaho and Boston, we shouldn’t be worried about scheduling home games in November. If there is a hurricane in the gulf the week of the Navy game, I will be more concerned for our chances than if it is 40 for the Tulane game.
I, for one, would like someone to take the knowledge of how to win national championships from Lincoln and bring it to Dallas.
How was this decision made? I like the fact we now have an open date, but the Stallion is right. 35 days between home games is ridiculous. How did we get step-child status with Conference USA? Why wouldn't SMU take precedence over McNeese State? If that 35 days is correct it is unacceptable. There must be more to the story.
go easy on the geritol martinis old timer.....whatcha gonna do...shake yur cane at orsini ![]()
Perhaps we are doing Tulane a favor so that they will owe us one later on? The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
I would think that Tulane list of debt's to SMU, is quite lengthy already.
As far as I am concerned, we more than made up for that when we beat them when they returned to the Superdome.
Well we have had one of the worst football and mens basketball programs since we joined conference USA. Haven't we finished last in the conference the last two years and last in basketball this year as well (not sure about 2008)?
you're right. With our woeful attendance and w-l record, I'm not sure there's anyone more prolific at their suckitude than we are.
