I don't know. Obvious Tech and OSU were write offs. I wish we had done better; we didn't, and I can live with that. What chaps me is that we should be 2-3 at this point. We should have been able to squeak essentially one more field goal in the past three weeks. This isn't a completely inexperienced offense like last year. We should be able to do more, and we still seem to be able to do diddly divided by squat; and I'm not sure it's the kids.

I'm not hopping on a fire anyone band wagon, but I think we deserve some more answers than we seem to be getting.
Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!

Maybe you're right. UTEP was shuttling fresh players in and out of the game a lot more than we were. Our guys are in good shape, but I don't think we have enough depth.

There is no commitment when it comes to spending the money it takes to have a first class Div.1-A winning football team. SMU could have bought a name, unemployed head coach any time they wanted to get serious about winning. Forest Gregg was such a coach, and gave the school hope for the future. Pye and the faculty killed that dream before we ever had a chance to get started, and now unrelenting despair has set it. PE majors and JUCO transfers are just cheap fixes for a more fundamental problem. The faculty does not understand that enrollment depends upon positive football exposure. That is just the way the market is. Either ante up or go out of business.
