SMU wins.
I say this every year, but I mean it this year, just like I meant it in '05.
And partially meant it in '06.

Re: What If????what would beating TCU mean? It would mean everything to this team's chances of earning a bowl bid this year and would undoubtedly help this coaching staff keep all the commits we currently have and probably reel in a late stud or two. Looking back, it will become known as the point when SMU football finally turned the corner and left the death penalty behind.
Re: What If????I hear Patterson is worried about this game. I have no idea why. Blowing smoke. He has by far the better team.
Re: What If????Then enjoy being a sell-out douchewad. Go support Arky and Aggy all you want.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: What If????
Because Patterson is incapable of not blowing a game he shouldn't. Every year TCU is talked about, and every year they drop a game to some opponent they have no right losing to. Here's hoping it's us again. A Mustang Fan and an SMU Class Of 08 Theatre Major. Believe It.

Re: What If????
The question was about "what if ... we somehow manage to win this game" — not what happened after we beat them in 2005. Once again, you derive some sort of pleasure from dwelling solely on the most negative aspect you can think of. Do not ever claim to be a PonyFan, because you're not fooling anyone. Are you always this miserable, or just when you're awake?
Re: What If????
Are you talking about the 12-0 Utah team we lost to, or the 12-1 OU team we lost to last year? Just curious which Top 10 team we had 'no right losing to' in 2008.
Re: What If????It would mean that they were back on schedule for making a bowl game.
They are currently 1 game down. They should have won at Washington State. They have to win SOME game this year that they are not expected to to get back on "schedule." You don't bring a program "back" by winning a game. You bring a program "back" by stringing successful seasons together. Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.
Re: What If????Per my experience in 2005:
First, you and everyone around you would get blackout drunk (probably here): Then, you'd see SMU on the front page of ESPN for the first time in your life (and the DMN the following morning): ![]() Then you'd read something like this, over and over again, still not believing: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=252532567 Then you'd read a bunch of articles all next week about how after 25 years of suffering, SMU is a program finally on the rise. Lots of praise. Someone mentioned earlier that writers probably already have "SMU Wins" articles pre-written just in case. I agree. You could tell in 2005 that the feel-good story of a SMU come-back is a story lots of writers want to tell.
Re: What If????
Then, again going based on 2005, you'd stand with your hands on your hips as you watched ECU whip our [deleted] the next week. Hope they don't bring a pirate's cannon with them.
