So it really did blow the play clocks?.. I wondered what happened and why they never came back on...
All I know is that the moment the cannon went off the play clock on the south end went out. They turned the other one off intentionally because you can not have one at one end and not the other.

Oh yeah, let's get a cannon just like UT, A&M, UNT...
While we're at it, let's get some of those tractor-trailer rig horns so we can be just like TCU and every redneck high school in Texas. Yee Haw!

i went to the athletic department a few years ago and suggested they bring a cannon into the stadium...they told me if I got one they would try and work it in...they then let the squirres back which only lasted one week after they screwed up where they were allowed on the field. also had the smallest bell i had seen in my life.

Let's keep the play clocks working, though.
Screw that. I have 2 blown out eardrum's as it is from being around too much gunfire in my life. I can't deal with anything loud. Usually i wear earplugs throughout the game. However i was not prepared for the fly over and the cannon which my ears are still ringing over! (I suffer from severe tinnitus as it is, but its been worse the past few days after those two incidents ) Usually I wear earplugs though because in section 203 the speaker volume us usually unbearable. However it wasnt as loud this past Saturday. So cheers to that. I only had to wear one in my worse off ear!

Right. Left is fuc*ed. I have to pretty much live with an earplug in that ear. Any noise about 90 decibels or higher and I fall to the ground in pain!

You'll have to make a deal with the NAVY about the cannon. It's their's.
I remember a red painted Howitzer at SMU games at the Cotton Bowl in the 60s. Then the SWC outlawed cannons I think.
May the forth be with us.

I'm a fan of a big cannon-like item, but we need to put our own unique spin on it. Perhaps we get an old german tank.....made by BMW....... and fire that off. Or a gatlin gun. Or an anti-aircraft gun.
Any weaponry with a Dallas history?

All of your american "weapons" are weak. They are no match for the might of the Empire. In the future the finest Japanese weapons should be demonstrated for the glory of the Emperor!
