You are talking only about hardcore football fans. There are many fans who are ultra hardcore in that they make most of the football games home and away, they have season tickets and actually attend men's and women's basketball and they attend many of the non-revenue sports games. They also not only give $$$ to the MC, they also give volunteer time. While football is number one it is not the only sport driving the athletic program.

Category I Hardcore fan if you have ever attended a SMU women's rowing event. Beyond Category II hardcore if you have witness them win.
Otherwise, Category I fan if you support the Mustang club, know enough people on the Blvd to never pay for a drink or full meal and attend >/= 3 football games and >/= 6 men's/woman's basketball games.
Category II fan if you have the above and have actually volunteered to help the athletic department in some capacity. Actually doing something bumps you up to Category IIA
Category III hardcore fan if you have season tickets to both men's football and basketball and attend a reasonable number of game and have a spot on the Blvd.
Category IV hardcore fan if all the above and have woman's basketball season tickets.
Category V hardcore fan if you lived through the Doak Walker era and the Pony Express era and all the above and plan to be buried in a red and blue casket..

Woah, stop. Somebody has to pay for the food and drinks, otherwise they wont be there. You need to make a Host exemption for that one. If you are the host of the tailgate party, of course you're paying for it.
