Did you use new math or old math to reach that conclusion?

Old math. According to R&B's post, 13=17, which must be new math.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Why does UH have to lose twice? We're tied now. If we win out and they drop just one that would put UH at 6-2 in conference and SMU at 7-1 in conference. In which case, we would play in the championship game.

UH owns the tie breaker over us

Go check the conference standings and get back to us on whether UH would have to lose twice for SMU to win the division if SMU won out. Perunapower was right.

I am confused. BOTH SMU and Houston are 3-1 in conference play with 4 games left. If we win out, then we are 7-1 in conference. If Houston lose ONE game they will be 6-2 and the tiebreaker does not matter. Only if both schools have matching conference records do the tiebreakers come into play, and of course Houston has us beaten on the tiebreakers.

Wuba:

I know he is, i didnt say anything about the accuracy of his statement....i simply stated that they own the tie breaker over us, which implies that if we both win out they go on.

You said UH would have to collapse in 2 of their last 4 games for us to pass them. That is incorrect, they only have to lose 1 of their last 4 games. Maybe you knew the correct information, but it did not come across in your post.

at Tulsa and at UCF back to back weeks at least leaves the door open for UH to drop one.

We should be the favorite in all 4 games coming up. Whether or not we can actually keep this level of performance up....well we'll see.

Regardless of what happens with UTEP, Marshall will be our toughest test. The Herd will have a lot to play for in that game.

Hopefully we will be jellin' at that point.

After watching Memphis Sunday I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we beat them.

I can easily see us finishing at 8-4.

The amazing thing is if we didn't totally give away the Washington State game we would end the season at 9-3.

Then with the conference championship game win and our bowl win we would end up at 11-3.
