Not at the luncheon you didn't, JJ was not there.
Neither was I
I wasn't there either, but I think 94's just stirring the drink here.

I don't want to be a member of any club that will have me.

Today was my first one. Working in north Plano makes it hard getting down there, but I had to clear the schedule for this one.
Great experience. I will make a point of going back as often as possible.
To those who can't make it, I know you guys want information, but we are sworn not to give anything out. And we have to abide by that. If I gave you an overview, it would just be a bunch of generic coach speak crap that you could get anywhere. But the fact is, absolutely nothing of what goes on at the luncheon is coach speak. It is specifics; breaking down plays with absolute detail and with great insight from the coaches. And those specifics are things that we don't want other teams to know about.
The only things I could share with you are: Our linebacker coach is going to hit the gym in the off-season because he needs to be able to handle a charging ref better. And for the Tulsa game, we traveled something like 9 seniors and 45 underclassmen.
Anything else has to do with strategy or insight on players and nobody should be sharing any of that stuff.

Actually, isn't the price $2 million per year for the coach and $15 per lunch?

Radisson - across Central from SMU -make a point to go next Monday - it is well worth the effort. Easy to get to and easy parking close to the door to the banquet room. Pay at the door or you can RSVP and charge it. You will like it and you'll be back. The enthusiasm is contagious. Outstanding job by the two coordinators today. BEAT RICE.
Whether you pay at the door or charge it, RSVP! You can do it now by emailing Kara L. Maiella [ [email protected]]

While I enjoy the enthusiasm of next Monday's plan to open up a bigger room for the post-Rice luncheon (I would LOVE to see fried rice on the buffet), I feel it a little premature. Let's get the win, then see how many people show up.

He was talking about getting your RSVP in to them early so they can plan. They have to make plans by Friday with the hotel (so they will know if they need to expand the room). That is why they asked us to RSVP by Friday. He was not putting the cart before the horse.

Not to bring up the obvious, but...how do they keep out the spys now that we have broadcast here when they meet and what they talk about?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Honestly, if you can make it when we win, you should also be able to make it when we lose. I've appreciated the times I've gone after we lost as much as when we win. The coaches usually are able to point out in the film where experience will help the kids make better decisions to prevent the screw-ups and make plays. I tend to feel better about the program after attending the luncheon after a loss. Helps keep me motivated to be a happy drunk on gameday.

Of course not. ... Having been to one of these myself (post-Navy) I can tell you the reason they don't want anything posted about it is you are given an unvarnished look, and they clue you in on information that they wouldn't give the media. If someone were to blab it would pretty much cause an end to the truly inside nature of the event. Go to one and you'll understand. And if you are coming in from out of town for the games, I'd say pick one and stay through Monday afternoon... you won't regret it. I'm planning on being at each of the next four.
